:o :o :o :o :o :-o :-o

I've never heard anything like this before.

Post

For 100% synthesised sound (unless i'm missing something? :P ) you're right :o:o:o:o:o :-o :-o

Post

This guy's product can be the next revolution in the industry.

Either that, or this is all some very masterful trick/trolling. I certainly hope/believe that its NOT the latter.

Post

I dont know if i can believe it.. :)
The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

maybe he just went down to the local conservatory and recorded them warming up.. :D
it does sound good if it is for real. .. lots of reverb tho.

Post

Hope it's real. But it almost sounds too good to be true.

Post

yeah same here. It sounds too realistic to think that something of that sort could come out of *gasp* software!

And they're already discussing the price point, and almost everyone agrees that it should be in the 300s price range.

Imo, if its all true and if this comes out with an initial price less than 100 dollars, it'll sell like hot cakes. I'd imagine all the software sample libraries taking a HUGE, i mean HUGE hit from this! If he's going to price them at 300, they'll still sell, only thing they'll be out of reach for home-musies like me. :D

Post

Ok how about this, to see if this is real.

Someone could give him a midi file asking him to run that thing thru his VST and get an mp3. The midi file shuold also have notes that wouldnt be playable in an instrument's natural range, just to verify that he's not asking a player to play it.

This all seems so cheap to say about the guy, and i'm certainly not attacking his validity, but the thing is, it sounds TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!

Post

sounds pretty damn impressive. if i read those posts correctly, i am under the impression that the dev has created those sounds using a combination of resynthesis for the core sound, and physical modeling for other acoustic properties. do i have that right?

It's clearly a synth. So we can suppose the thing is real and expect good news soon.

Post

that motherf**ker better not price it over 100 bucks. Why can't people tell, success lies in volume!!! *cough EXT *cough
The following statement is true.

 @ infinity.

I'm saying the same thing man. We can all register in the forum and ask him to price it at 100 bucks. We'll be his beta testers. :hihi: He'll surely get more money than if he priced it at 300 because the volume*low price will beat low volume*price in this case.

Post

Wasn't there a huge discussion about this or something similar?

Wow, thats impressive.

Ya know, i can clearly see the next-revolution in the software market. Individual devs taking on the big dawgs.

Energy-xt can become the sonar/cubase/live killer with a few more bug fixes/corrections and features. All while keeping the same price point.

Reaper can become an acid/soundforge-killer if it develops at the same rate it does now.

This new vst this swedish guy is developing can become the VSL/Garritan/kirk symphony-killer if he prices the thing under 100 bucks.

Kjarheus and freeware effects like blockfish can kill big companies like Waves and UAD, if they were enhanced with a pro-looking GUI and more features. :hihi:

I'm telling you man, a revolution is taking place. Soon, we can have a decent/pro-level softstudio for less than 1000 bucks and have the big-companies' products as luxury items IF all goes well as planned. Not that its necessarily a good thing. If jorgen gets hit by a bus, we'll all moan a very great loss indeed - the loss of ext, not jorgen. :hihi: (j/k - we love ya). :D so, let those big companies do their thing as well. :)
