As Ive already said in one of the other CPS threads, CPS is its own wrapper; it can run as a VST already. Or you can bundle a patch with the runtime engine.arke wrote:It says that you can export it into a standalone and you can also interface it with C++, Java, or Flash. So its just a matter of time until somebody writes a CPS->VST wrapper

For it to run as VST you only need to load the CPS2VST wrapper into your host,
which you find at \sdk\VST (PC)\bin\CPS2VST.dll
From then you're able to load and build patches.
A pity is that it seems not to receive midi from the host
Working around with virtual midi ports does the trick though ...

I don't think CPS can be directly compared to SE.
CPS is similar to, albeit less sophisticated than, Max/MSP. Although both have the ability to create ("export their patches as" is probably more accurate) plug-ins, they are also designed to empower you to write complex, event-driven systems.
If you want to create plug-ins and nothing more, you're probably better off with SE or Synthmaker.

Yep, they're not exactly comparable.
While SE and SM are _specialized_ to work as VSTs, CPS seems to have a rather different background . I didnt't know CPS too well until recently, but the VST feature seems to be rather new.
It's fun to just do some odd calculations in it, which can be set up pretty straight forward.
Glad I'm not alone in that I couldn't get the standalone to run either (VST works fine though).

Well I gotta test it out as soon as I have some time left.
