I'm assuming from your tone that your credentials are far more impressive than a masters in musical acoustics from RIT, Stockholm, and you've a whole lot of real-world, professional programming experience under your belt.
jesus christ Meffy, lighten up.

:-D So the answer is "none," then?

yes i have no qualifications/experience/knowledge in any of this. well dang it you got me! i bow down to your superior knowledge and power of perception, you nailed me good n proper.

Lets not hijack this thread please. ;) I didnt say the price of the synth is NOT fair at 300. For such an awesome instrument, its a very fair price indeed. I said, if he priced it at 100, i (and a lot of others) would be able to buy it and it would greatly improve his sales. :)

listen, i didnt get through this whole thread cause alot of ppl are talking bull here -- but there is no way in hell this should be 100 dollars.

I would love it if it were so, but think about how much the most expressive libraries are, and then think about their drawbacks

1. huge data size
2. disk streaming
3. hard to access different articulations (its basically an art in itself using different articulations)
4. just plain not as realistic as it could be.

if the sound quality is nearly the same, this product could easily be 500$ plus!!!!

300 bucks is a steal, IMO.

I would buy this in a second.

Innit something like synful orchestra?

To return to topic: Agreed, if it is as represented it looks like a grand bargain at whatever price. I can't see it replacing everything else but it sure would be a super addition to any line-up.

300 bucks sounds fair, but i'm not gonna pay that kind of money for it. no way. PM synths are coming up left and right anyway, in all price ranges.

i wonder what the big boys are going to do as the freeware threat rises. sell pro tools plugs at inflated prices?

this guy may be truly be on to something, cause pure physical modeling has almost always ended up still sounding very synthetic to me....and it eats cpu cycles majorly....AAS suite for example...great product....but the massive cpu hit to me is not worth the extra expressivity that physical modeling gains, especially when the resulting sound still sounds synthetic and needs more cpu cycles from effects to get closer to real...as is presently I'd rather give up the expressivity and have the better sound and much smaller cpu hit of a sample library....plus much of the extra expressivity from PM is lost without the instruments natural interface....so unless you own a midi axe, a breath controller, and a bowed midi controller(do they even have one?)it doesn't seem that beneficial...cause aftertouch and a pitch and mod wheel just dont cut it in terms of utilizing that extra expressivity in a natural way....my 2 cents

Sounds amazing... I would buy this, there are very few points when this sounds fake, of course Pace or a dongle would be a deal breaker... :hihi: I think that this could be the real deal, but what do I know. :D

Well, the guy says, its STILL under development and it ALREADY sounds gorgeous! Cant imagine how it'll sound when its fully released.

I was impressed by the demo sounds...almost sample-like in their purity. :? But I'd need to know a helluva lot more before I could say what it's worth...I too hope that it is not a con...

Well obviously everyone disagrees with me about a $100 price tag and would be willing to pay much more. Which, I guess, proves my point wrong about him being able to sell more copies if it was less expensive, but still expensive enough to earn good profit.

Also keep in mind that the demo was recorded with a BC3 wind controller. The synth is not making that expression up. The sounds are good, but I'd like to hear it played with a MIDI keyboard and see how much expression that can get.

It would be nice to see a low price tag. But I'd not want the dev to undervalue his work.

Oh, I wouldn't go much past $150...

You're right about the difficulties of expression with MIDI keyboards -- none of us have enough hands or coordination, I suspect. I also feel that if I really desperately wanted these sounds I'd either go the sample route, or (horror :-o ) buy a wind controller...
