I have kore and it is working okay apart from one problem - everytime I chose a sample based instrument such as kompakt, battery etc it keeps asking me for the root directory for the samples.
Anybody have any ideas?

It only does that with Battery for me... I don't know? Did you see the post by henning in the NI Kore forum?....says we can expect a update in a few weeks....or so.

I had that problem and solved it by making sure I was using the default directory for the samples and making sure it was in the options of the standalone versions of each before loading KORE. No problems now.

Basicay my samples are not in the default directory as they are on a seperate drive so I guess it is another case of NI releasing a product without beta testing it properly and having to wait for an update before it can be used properly.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough - mine are on a seperate drive too but I had to use a default path, not a default drive - let me explain. I originally had Battery 2 samples folder set to D:\Samples\Battery in options because I had more than just the default Battery 2 library including NSKit 7 and some converted soundfonts so \Battery included the Battery 2 library and some other folders and this way they all loaded from the Battery 2 dropdown. I ended up having to move all of those extra folders inside the Battery 2 library folder and then point the default path to D:\samples\battery 2 library. It has worked fine since.

Lemme ask you one thing:baggio wrote:Basicay my samples are not in the default directory as they are on a seperate drive so I guess it is another case of NI releasing a product without beta testing it properly and having to wait for an update before it can be used properly.
Since you installed your NI sample libraries, have you moved them from the default install location, or designated a location yourself during their installations?

I designated location during the installation. I have made sure that all the individual bits of software know where the samples are through the route directory in the options menu.
I have managed to get Kontakt 2 working. Also, I have a work around for kompakt, intakt and eletrik piano by putting all the large nki files in one directory.
However, battery 2 will not find the libray automatically.
