better than sidechain ?

why don't you just use automation... you can draw curves and it is usually very clean.... just a thought

I don't understand what you want. Automated tremolo maybe?
As an aside, sidechaining and ducking are huge topics on forums. I've never seen an engineer actually use either technique. I'm not saying that there aren't great engineers who sidechain, but most don't unless something is really messed up (in my East Coast US experience).

Doubt it will take more than a couple of seconds.
