UAD Neve 1073 is now available!

Yes and i am curious how is it compared to that from URS since you can use so much URS instances compared to just a few of this on one UAD card.

So it's not a VST right. So, how is it installed/hosted? I am confused.

it is a dsp FX that runs as a vst but you need the dsp card installed on your pc & the fx use the prossesor on the dsp card not the cpu on your pc

It runs on a UAD DSP card.
If you have the card then it shows up as any other VST in your VST folder.

It makes me want to buy a third UAD card. I already max out the 2 I've got . . . couldn't afford the headroom for a channel eq. I have and love the URS one, and one of the best things about it is the number of instances it'll run.

Meanwhile,I've been waiting on a rebuild on pair of hardware 1081's for months and months.

I'm going all neve-eq crazy.

So....... how does the URS Neve compare to the UAD Neve?

Most of the people @ the UAD forum said the URS stuff isn't in the same league. it IS the UAD forum tho, so take it with a grain of salt, but that being said, they a critical bunch, as much as the gearslutz crew, but without the healthy dose of pretension.

I've got a sample of the Neve 1073 in the sintefex so it will be interesting to A/B compare the UAD version. The 1073 on UAD can't really be compared to the URS version though as the URS models another unit (neve 1084).

Loving this Neve eq, I have urs as well, and I have to say the Uad version beats it. I am fond of the URS as you can run lots of them, but the UAD seems to have a lot of weight behind it, like you only have to add a little bit of eq to really hear it.

It also upsamples to 192khz so no alising or harsh sound artifacts. Best eq I've heard so far.... bought it
