Cubase SX3 Problem

I have been having this problem since I got cubase, and since I love SX3 I want to solve this problem... otherwise I would have to use ableton that doesn't confront me with this problem. I have a presonus (presonus.com) firepod and whenever I launch cubase and make a new file it says "the sample rate has been changed to 4410 khz"... when I set it to 9600 on my firepod. Then when I switch in cubase using the vst menu it wont let me switch either...

Any help?

Does ur firepod have a seperate utility from which you can alter the sample rate?

I should consider wether it really is worth it to work in 96Khz though.

for guitar rig 2 it is. Yes it has a seperate utility.

You should have a place in Cubase where you can set the default sample rate for new projects. Set it to 96k and reboot...

Doesnt really work like that in cubase.. you can set the samplerate to 96KHz in the project set up... but you'll than have to save that as a default project.

i have cubase and a prosonus card.

When u make a new project in cubase make sure u create a NEW folder for each project. (it is really important, so each song has its own folder) set your sample rate in the prosonus utility, then in the project\project setup page in cubase.

Cubase alters the sample rate if it finds different sample rates within the directory structure of the current open project.

I had this message when i decided to switch to 88htz from 96, but once the files in the project had been correctly converted i never got it again.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but I recently bought a Tascam US-122 (USB interface) and if I'm working on a project at 48/24 and open IE, it changes the sample rate to 44.1! Very bizarre behaviour - any ideas...?
