So one more, check demo4 .. this one is perfect IMO, ditches glitz for clean, and it's much more readable/usable IMO. demo4 is my favorite.

Ha! you posted this while I was typing, I kind of like #3var a bit better easy to read for bad eye's, but am thrilled to have either. KVR can decide.

that looks even better now, just one minor suggestion if i may.

the text is better without the shading but it has gotten dimmer and harder to read...could it be a little brighter?

You should rename all of these images something like "GUI music plug-in 01.jpg" so that you can harness some of the Google love:

It'll help you get more work when developers are Googling on a whim and switch to the "Images" search.

I vote for freeamp_demo4.png, but the small pedal text in freeamp_demo3_var.png is better legible...

??? The pedal text looks no different in size from demo3 to demo4...the only difference is that demo4 ditches the gradient - which makes it much more readable imo...

FreeAMP SE v2.0 final interface.

Lessons learned:

Do not add effects to labels, or text.
Lower the contrast/brightness of the labels to be less intense and give the controls more brightness/contrast to ease the eye.
Final touches are very important
Less saturation on background elements make the controls "pop"
