Hello
I have an audio track set up through which I am able to record and play back audio.
But, I am unable to make an audio insert work.
I have done the inserts on midi tracks successfully.
All I have read says the audio track inserts are done the same.
Using the audio track inspector I click <+> to drop down the eight insert widows. I right click and choose an effect that shows in the pop up window. It is now showing in the insert window. The blue insert on-lite button is lit and the yellow by pass-lite is off. When I click the <e> button the insert effect pops up. I am sure to use a preset on it. Still the audio is not effected.
Any suggestions?
Also I am looking for Reason Rewire Cubase personal instruction in the Syracuse NY area...anyone our there?
thanks

It sounds like you're doing everything correctly. You might want to make sure your audio device settings are all correct, but I honestly have no idea what might cause this problem. I'd suggest posting this question in the Steinberg Cubase forum.

I think I got it...
I am starting to see that there are differences between a VSTi and a VSTe.
I downloaded some definite VSTe and put in my plug in folder...
works fine now...
now I'm investigating the audio <send> windows...clicking on those gives me one choice...<outputs> <stereo> or <L-R>...does this involve setting up additional busses?
thanks
Tim

Wow, you're having a tough time over there; what are you trying to do exactly? Do you want to set up different outputs? You don't really need to unless you're doing more than normal stereo mixing.xartrax wrote:thanks

VSTi (VST Instrumets) are synths and samplers that make your sounds. These always go in the VST Instruments window (F11). VST effects are your inserts and Send Effects. It sounds to me like you are mistaking VST Outputs for Send FX. To use Send FX, you must insert a new FX Track.
