Hay all, looking for a detailed bass library, preferribly something good for rock... Some thing with fast and slow slides, both up and down would be nice, with ghost notes and release layers would be nice... Is there any thing out there, I'm really just trying to find out what is the best...

So yeah, I've heard of Triligy, but is there any thing else???

Hurry and check out Ultimate Bass Kit from manytone. It's only 15$ till the end i this month. It's a great sounding sampleset with lots of articulations. I just got it and I'm very pleased.

Also, jrrshop has some nice prices on Scarbee's bass library which shuld be very good.

Scarbees J-Fingered and J-Slap are good, albeit geared towards the jazz/funk end of the spectrum rather than rock. You can find information about the articulations in the user manual.

What about broomstick bass? have anybody tried that one?

Nah bit of a toy... Really after something consisting of detail..... Resolution is key, a lot of articulations... I think its leaning towards triligy and/or J-fingered...

Here is a bass with lots of articulations, velocities and controls:

I used trilogy from spectrasonics.
It sounds very good. There are different kond of bass. You can choose from Acoustic to electronic. Also rock with picked samples. It's not so heavy for the CPU, you can change the volume between the bass and the noises in note off . There is also a ADSR so you can change the attack, decay etc etc.

Yeah sounds good.. That Warwick sounds good aswell, not a bad price really... about $250 New Zealand when done that maths... Worth it I think when considering the importance of the bass in a mix... Nice articulations... I really just want an electric rock bas with every kinda articulations you can imagine! Hence that warwick was really quite impressive!

Don't forget Majestic. The demos on the site are very impressive! Dongled though.

Trilogy is always hard to beat; the overdriven and fingered basses are really impressive in rock/pop, plus they have a 5- and 6-string!! But I didn't care for the pick basses, personally. Hardcore Bass sounds pretty plastic, I think. I was dissapointed with it. Scarbee stuff is pretty kick-ass, also!

Album was kicking ASS, now my friend who's helping me has gotten quite busy, so I'm a little lost ATM - but I'm on vacation in a week or so, so I'm quietly studying my mixing technique and enthusiasm and waiting to strike...I think it'll be done by fall, thanks for asking.

Let's check out that track... :D

Yeah, mine was ment to be around April, but my machine recently overclocked itself to shit, and now I blue screen every time I try to open Windows Explorer, funny enough I can get into Cubase, push it to its limit and its fine! Wak!!! But yeah I was ment to do New Zealand music month, but I'm happy its waited because the last few tracks I've done have been really quite differnt and grungier than my other stuff, and the album was lacking balls to be honest... Its good to hear its all going smoothly... Yeah sometimes its just worth waiting ain't it... Pashance is a virtue... :D
