Hi Guys

Check out this, whipped up by Gregjazz :
http://www.manytone.com/music/Manytone_Sitar_Demo.mp3

It will be about a 100meg pack that includes a Stereo (with individual left and right mic files) and a mono soundset. It contains drones, strums and individual notes. We also have some presets with it that are very cool.

The package will be given to all ManyTone VST customers for free if the current group buy we are running reaches 200.
We are already at maximum discount and have 150 sign ups so far. Once 200 sign ups are reached, all our existing VST customers will also receive this for their help in promoting the group buy. The GB thread is here:

Thanks a lot guys ...you are almost there! Now help me give this Sitar Pack away for free!!
Paul

Sonofabitch! Even better! It was handmade! So this is gonna be some exlusive stuff we're getting here! Can't wait to hear it! I love eastern instruments, they add so much atmoshpere to a track. I have a love for eastern scales as well...very dark yet motivating.

Peace 8)

Hi Frank
I played the Demo mp3 for Boris last night. He is the guy who owned and played the Sitar for this sample set. (It is called "Boris Sitar")
His face even lit up with a big smile at the demo track. He was expecting something a bit fake i think. He sure noticed the realism in this sampleset though as he does play the real thing. Also a compliment goes to Gregjazz for his skill at playing it realistically!
Actually the sampled version has better pitch than the real instrument as the real Sitar can vary in pitch due to intonation etc. We made sure in this set the samples are tuned as perfect as we could get them.

So a bump if you have not heard this track yet. I think this will be one sweet Sitar set for you guys! I know Greg and i are loving the way it turned out!

Cheers

Yes, busy with Manytone/Wusikstation here. Picking up the electric bass for the first time in months has resulted in a nice big blister on my finger so now I have to give it a rest and surf around here a little. The mp3 example sounds very good. I hope it will reach 200 so that the sitar becomes a freebie :-)

Excellent job there, Paul!

Hmm, now I feel like I 'can' say that with some authority... I have a sitar sitting in my studio and have taken some lessons on it a while ago as well as have recorded it. So, I KNOW what a pain in the butt it can be to record one. Also, I've had the good fortune to have seen quite a number of classical Indian music concerts.

Unlike the many really crappy sitar samples out there, you seem to have done a GREAT job and the mp3 sounds fabulous.

:D

That's pretty nice. You can never have too many non-European instruments...

no, I am VERY interested in this. I won't be jumping on the group buy as I have UBK, and don't really need the other stuff, so I will be waiting to see if/when this is available on its own, and how much. :)
