Great to hear that. Thanks stefan! :D I was just playing with the EQ and noticed one big shortcomming: no bypass for bands, otherwise yes, it's a bit harsh, so feedback is very welcome and GUI is a bit small, but excellent looking and smooth, same goes for the compressor.

Cheers!

Bypass has already been implemented :)
The feedback will probably not make it less harsch (unless we have different meanings to the word), more something you'd use to make it scream a bit more... :) The GUIs are already a bit bigger....

Post

Hey Stefan! Did you get my comments about the plugin resetting on reload?

Post

Yeah, will investigate
Question: The GUI, does it set itself to the correct state, just that it doesn't seem to actually update the "internal non-visual" parameters?

Stupid me :bang:. It's feedback, not "bypass saturator", it can be bypassed already by setting it to zero, no? hmmm, feedback in EQ? What's that for :D. Could be interesting

btw, both are behaving all right here in eXT, regarding presets.

The saturator doesn't change the sound when set to zero, that's correct. The feedback can turn the entire EQ into a self-oscillating monster, it is quite fun for noisy-distortion-scalping-stuff. When at moderate levels it just adds "bite". I find it quite useful when using the EQ as a multi-stage distortion unit (each band has its own saturation stage) instead of for plain EQ'ing. When not using distortion the feedback can add its own kind of coloring.

Wow! Sounds interesting and original for an EQ :tu:.

Can't wait to fiddle with it!

Cheers!

Hello Stephan

How is the eQ going ? ;)

I tried once again the comp with beats, an dit made really harsh noise at some settings, but not "softsat" at all. Weird.

Been preoccupied with other things for a while, will get back to it soon :)
What kind of settings were you using?

Sorry, but i can't really remember : i tweaked everything.
But i know it wasn't "asburd" tweakings. I might have selected a preset, and then moved the faders, but when i moved it, it sounded with a terrible distortion of signal. SO i tried to modify settings (comp > expand, and back, etc.), it was the same !
The softsat was off.

Post

Hm, ok. Very strange :)

Post

Same happened to me, too. I was just tweaking the setting normally, nothing extreme or unusual and all of a sudden, while moving a point/fader a nasty distortion came out. I'm not sure what triggers it.

hey stefan,
afte the big move i'm back again ... ;)
just wanted to let you know that what dux describes could be the bug i mentioned ealier in the eq (remember when i moaned about the loud noise while tweaking? sounded like a feedback somehow) ...
that migh be the same problem ...

Ah ok, the on in the EQ I've had myself and it's most likely due to faulty parameter smoothing, which I'm looking into.

Post

Could be, Stefan, because it happens -while- tweaking. I think youre on the right track.
