OK, I've had a bit of a listen. First, why are there only 3 votes? You're split down the middle too! Come on, people: vote on this fine track! :hihi:

This is a strong mix and a strong alt-pop-rock song. I'm really digging this one, I like the new sound, System ERA. At this point, the only criticism I can offer is that I would like to hear a change in the arrangement at the chorus @1:07; maybe change that grinding guitar's EQ a bit, or widening the backing vocals - although I understand that female bg vocals are going in? That'll be great, and should compliment your breathy voice nicely! I won't mention the vocal levels because I know these are 'scratch' tracks (although they sound good to me!), but I look forward to them being more up front in the mix.

I'm a little confused about the arrangement: We have: Verse, Chorus, Verse, 4xChorus(but broken down), then a the chorus with bg vox only, then a break, then the chorus kind of develops again. While I'm not suggesting a typical A/B/A/B/C/A/B-type arrangement, I found my interest waning a bit during that break; I wouldn't mind seeing 30sec cut out of there somewhere, or making it sound less like the rest of the song? Maybe swap out BFD for some electronic drums/loops, add some synthscapes, maybe?

That's just niddly things. I would buy this single pretty much as is! Sounds pretty much master-ready, can't wait for new mixes! The album will be good, sounds like. :D :tu:

I voted 2 as I think needs a bit of re-mastering, just that right-panned guitar at the start dosnt quite sit with me and the drums just dont sound as a clear and full as 'commercial' songs (imo). All down to preference of course. I think the vocals are fine, but there wasnt an option for just 'mastering/re-mixing' etc. 8)

Yeah, I agree: that guitar is a little distracting.

I didn't vote as the options don't have much to do with anything I was thinking.
Then again I was thinking about this red rubber ducky with devil horns USB peripheral that holds 250 mb in it that I saw once on some website.

Really? A red duck?? Do tell.

System ERA: perhaps you should consider one less self-loathing option for the poll? :D

Agreed! Self nullification has its purpose on the internet when u want people to be sure not to misinterpret u as cocky - but everyone here "knows" u - and u really want straight answers at this stage, no?
Plus, u of all people need to have an option of "very good" or "slight remastering" if ur looking for votes.
I'm cool with the structure and the length and the guitar.
WoJ wrote:the drums just dont sound as a clear and full as 'commercial' songs
On relistening, and with scrutiny, i agree the drums could be clearer, but I don't feel they need to be clearer. When I hear drums i like to be able to hear each stroke of each drum for the whole length of the track, and I can hear that on this track without strain by any means.
Drum rhythms and prgressions are perfect
I'll vote top option if u tell me u can't for some reason add another option, but the vocals are grand :)
Classy piece!

Hm, found this thread through the bass library one.
Wondering why my name has been mentioned at all...

Anyways, this is a great track. But yeah, it could probably indeed do with a more "concrete" sounding bass. There's a little lack of some good bass pumping.
Otherwise I like it a lot.

I tryed to add the option "Once you get a red rubber ducky with devil horns USB peripheral that holds 250 mb in it" heheh but it won't let me

Hay WOW... Thanx for all the comments.. Some really good pointeres there that I had not really thought about... Ah Sascha Franck, surposidly your da MAN at Guitar, I emphasize "DA MAN' there, you'l get it if you read through the post... hehehe

On the note of all the suggestions, I'l look into them all, I'l certainly look into scopping down the middle a bit, I also felt it was too long....

Thanx again peps...

Hm, wouldn't even know why there would be more guitars needed.
And no, I'm just an imposter.

Really interesting track as always :D
I agree with the comments on the bass - it's there at the start but really it does get a little lost later in the song. It needs to be a little more precisely defined, I'm guessing - it's either a little too "rounded" if that's the right word, or it's conflicting with the kick in the drums which itself is quite "rounded".

There's no doubting your songwriting skills at all :D

Simon, had a listen. Very Rock and Roll for you!!!. I'm gonnna try put some geetar lead on it before we catch up on the weekend.

The bridge/ breakdown section is really good. I like the mellower stuff. I think the guitar distortion is a bit excessive during the verse/ chorus, but that's just me, I like 'clean guitars' ;)
