That's interesting (especially the bit about PT in fact!).

Thanks for the responses... anyone else?

Say what? Neither version supports VSTi plugins. It's VST FX only.
Er... VST FX are also plugins -- they are VST FX plugins... I didn't mean instruments dummy :hihi:

yeah...I'll pipe in :hihi:

There's one thing that is driving me crazy...I can't select more than one soundcard...I would like to be able to use POD xt live input (ASIO) and playback through my edirol...in 1.5 and 1.0 I could use different cards on different tracks....but with 2.0 when I go to the Audio Hardware Set-up I can only get one or the other...However I have the same problem in Sonar, so maybe it's me...but I have tried everything...I also wish you could freeze tracks on the busses...for the most part I'm real pleased..I like the tabs for the mixer, the master rack...:)

So for multitracking are you going with Sonar or Audition 2 now, Hink?

It has excelled in the editing department!! The lasso tool coupled with noise reduction and.... Oh shit gotta go just got a tornado warning!!! BBL

i thought you could by right clicking on the bus and selecting "freeze"... maybe that's tracks though

The only way I know of to have multiple soundcard asio support is to use Asio4All. Works here for that purpose.

yeah I tried it as you suggested at the Audition forum, but no luck...now I get a choice of three cards globaly only...tbh it reall does not effect my work flow much. It's more one of those "it would nice if" things...good to see you btw Ozpeter....:)

The good: automating vsts, the new multiband compressor (still wrapping my head around that), the workspaces (though the tabs are starting to bug me as wasted space, they could auto-hide on dock no?).

The bad (imho): limited controller support, no vst preset (fxb/fxp), no vsti (instrument) support at all...(I would love to plugin an instrument as a real-time source).

the unexplored: need to play with the phase view & associated tools but I havent yet
my sig will go here

How is the new multiband compressor?

I think its excellent. It's "powered by" Izotope, and so far as I can tell it's basically the Multiband from their popular Ozone mastering suite. You have to go gently with it, but I prefer it to the Sonitus one that I already have/had. One of the good new things that I am really pleased to have 8)

If Encore and AA2 were combined into one application I would be very interested, highly unlikely I know :hihi:

yeah...I fiured out what I was doing wrong

I was trying to set the PO xt live as my input and the Edirol UA5 as the output...however when I went to set up audio hardware I could have both the inputs and the outputs of either one but not both.

The answer was to open Audio Hardware Set-up. Then in the first box labeled Audio Driver, which is where I was choosing either the UA5 or the POD I chose Audition windows sound. That is when it globally change both the input and the output in the past. The properties box just took me the applet for either the POD or the UA5, nothing else.

However by selecting Audition Windows Sound in that first driver box I solved the issue. When in the past I had tried the AWS it said the input was not enabled so recording was not possible...I felt I was running around in circles. Then I thought what would happen if I hit the properties button...because of it being the applet for the others I guess I just totally dismissed that it might be the cure...but I was able to select both my POD and UA5 as inputs to select from in multi-track view, as well as the same with outputs..now I am a happy camper...if Ozpeter reads this, thanx for your help...okay, now it's time to have some fun :D

AA2.0
That's interesting, as I've been moving more in the other direction (i.e. Sonar 5 PE).

For you, what are the main reasons for going more towards AA 2.0 for multitrack stuff?
