No need to prove anything, Jens.
But, if you really want to know - just recently (in the "pattern based hosts" thread) you quoted a complete long post of me (fortunately you did at least strip the images out) for only saying "eXT does most of it". Whereas it clearly doesn't, not at all.
My post has been largely about dual monitor support as well, and that's just as bad as it gets in eXT, no matter how you put it.
I know it *will* be better in XT2, yet, I've been talking about the status quo. And regarding that, eXT does close to nothing of what I posted in that very thread.
And yes, I *do* love eXT as well.

Several of the more recent host discussions, if I recall properly. I don't keep like a list, but I'm sure you know when you do it. What sascha has said is one example, but there were other cases when you would post as I mentioned above.

But don't be upset. Don't let what things happen here upset you. It's not worth it

right - it's all a game for me anyway - but even games can upset me for a moment or two - but they won't make me cry in my sleep

No, it doesn't do most of it. It doesn't support dual monitors properly nor does it support linked mixers, let alone setting them up as neat channel strips. And that's what my post has been about, at least largely.
And again no, I don't mean to bash eXT at all, I'm just cabling it up for something truly amazing that no other host would probably do as well, and things seem to *exactly* fulfill my needs (at least from what I can tell so far).
Yet, there's no need to allways praise it like you sometimes do (just as there might not be all that much of a need for me to praise Logic as much as I do).

ive come to the conclusion lately that half of making music with/on computers is the actual creativity and musicianship and the other half is grappling with the technology trying to get it to do what you want.

I can't point my finger at the exact flaw, but it nags at me constantly. The extra click here, the extra move there, the extra push there, the needless buttons there, the cluttered menu there. you get the idea.

I can point my finger at a whole lot of exact flaws, but they would only prove what you said.
Seriously, it's so bad I'm finally getting a Mac. 4 years of waiting and still nothing even halfway as elegant and ergonomically laid out as Logic. It's enough.

I allready said so in another thread: I seriously tried to like Cubase but it's impossible. It will allways only be a tool at best, but it will never feel like an instrument.
I even forced myself to not open Logic for around a month (simply didn't take the dongle with me when touring) and almost found myself looking for a cracked version because I simply couldn't stand the pain.
I seem to find a new bug or serious shortcoming each time I open SX. Latest addition: When dragging your project window onto a secondary monitor, the scrollwheel won't work anymore. Great programmers I have to say.
Oh, and another one: No stereo FX on mono tracks. Let the bus routing madness begin... what an incredible miss out.
But hey, it's all so professional.

I'm sorry it makes music creation for you all so agonizing, but I must admit I'm happy to see everybody finds Cubase so difficult, as I am starting out with it - it means once I'm used to Cubase, everything else will come easy! (?)

Yes, I know, you don't want to hear it anymore, but Logic excels so much in that area. Regardless whether I'm using an audiotrack or a VSTi one, selecting it will automatically take me to the relevant channel in the mixer.

Yeah that is actually is quite annoying IMO....

I know it's just an extra click, but you have to hunt and peck through listings of out put names in the list of vsti's in the midi track that will open the audio track. If you load enough vsti's into the project it gets to be a pain to go to that extra window find the stupid vsti output, and then click it to get the audio window.

That is really where I like the workflow in logic alot better.

I mean I use Cubase and I've gotten used to it because I have to, but I really wish they would make the Vsti's audio track easier to access, it would just speed things up alot for me.

Just to chime in and no I've not read the whole thread -

I bought cubase and tried to like it, now it just sits on my shelf. If the dongle stopped working I wouldn't even notice.

I'm a sonar user, I'm just used to how great sonar is and there's no-way cubase can touch sonar for workflow for me.

Some folks hate sonar, and use exactly the same argument for any program you care to mention (even cool edit!).

I guess i should sell my sx3 and let someone who appreciates it have it - any offers?
