Rick has the UI complete :D all the components and animation looks sweet :D

So now it is up to me, but cut me some slack :hihi: There are now about 140 controls in FreeAmp, about 180 graphics to place if you count the speaker grills, leds, meters and take into account that the eq has 21 knobs on its own :)

Spent yesterday figuring out a game plan, today after church the transformation begins, still a lot to change and a lot of switching to fix up (removing all the paged panels and changing the eq switches) ect. It will get done :D

Peace

:) You're not bad for a white guy.

We should get together and jam - I'm way out of practice and I'm not one of those comptetive players you know the kind, where when you start playing the other guy tries to play something above that person in a jam, etc. I HATE those guys. :)

Maybe there could be a competition to create different preset banks. The winner could get...?

I love flicking through presets to get inspiration.

Yep! that would be real cool, still amazed that I met you through KVR and finally found someone in my hometown area as much into this stuff as I :)

Spent most of my years as a bass player, never was much for being the person up front  always played better when in a basement or some back room :? Still get the butterflies after all these years when in front of a crowd

Don't know what a competition could give that ain't already in FreeAmp :D (just kiddin) But the more presets the better 8)

One big bummer I do have to mention is  Any preset compatability between v2 and older versions will most likely be lost ? I am very sorry for this but the new update involves changing a lot of controls and adds quite a few new ones.

Yep! it sure is :D I told Rick that his PhazOsc UI changed the presets for it (and it did), I can feel big changes of FreeAmp's presets coming :D This UI will change the whole feel of setting up a patch (in a very good way) 8)

Definitely sounds like a good idea.

In this type of plugin, it needs strong presets to capture the hearts of the potential users. I am 1000% for a preset competition. I think minimal categories required for entry should be;

1 preset for each of the following categories of sound required:

Wet clean: use any effects and eq's but no distortion
Dry clean: use no modulation effects only eq and reverb
Crunch: any effects but focus on not quite clean and not high gain
High Gain: any effects, no holds barred
Synth: uses the guitsyn synth.

5 presets minimum but no maximum.

When submitting if you have more than 1 preset per category, you choose which to nominate yourself to be considered for that slot. Then after a deadline, all presets are compared and voted on here on KVR to choose the best in each category. The type of guitar pickup humbucker or single coil should be added to the end of the preset name HB/SC.

Just ideas, seems like a possibility. I think it's crucial though that the community create presets AFTER the UI has been added, that way it's entirely different mindset and outcome.

What do you guys think?

Post

And for each category, there should be a DI take in wave format, posted in the thread, that people would use to create, compare and judge the presets. Just my 0.02 €.

I will be up for creating presets! I was commended for my CamelSpace presets so I must be doing something right :D

Roll on the next release. What fun!
