Can I Do This?

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a sampler program that allows me to give it a single wav file and automatically assigns the sound to various different keys with the appropriate pitch-shifting? Also, do samplers include some of the features found on synthesizers - like LFOs, effects, arpeggiators, etc.? If so, is it just more useful to use the sampler program since you could potentially just get a wav file if you need the simple waveforms?
Thanks,
Chinmay

all samplers will pitch the sound right across the keyboard, pretty much automatically.
Kontakt2 is the only sampler i know with arpegiators etc.

if you never used a sampler , perhaps you could get some experience with the free version of this :

it's limited to two voices , iirc ...
you really need to consider multi-samples though , if you want a good representation of pitch across the keyboard ...
