I'll crazy glue a $100 midi controller to $200 EZ-AG and
charge $1500 hundred for it....brilliant!! No wonder
he's got no bids. The REALLY stupid thing is that he's

I just got my ez-eg and have started using EZ_AG 3 version 3.13 , but every time I try to save my settings as a preset I get the "unable to save the preset" message.

Do I have to save with a certain file extension?

Hi,
No the extension .ini is automatically added, and the file should will be stored in the EZ_AG_Data folder, so don't enter a path either, just some preset name.
Ex: Preset 01

Make sure you don't use any of these characters in the preset name:

I unregistered and deleted the midix folder and then extracted again to the c drive, but I still get the same "unable to save the preset" message. The program itself works great.

Make sure to run the register.bat again.

If this doesn't help, open the hta file in a text editor (notepad, wordpad,..) and look for the line:

MsgBox "Unable to save the preset", vbOkOnly, s2

And replace it with this one:

Code: Select all

MsgBox "Unable to save the preset", vbOkOnly, szAppDir & sDataFolder & s2 & ".ini"

(single line !)

Now, when you get the error message, you should see the full path of the file in the message box title, let me know what you see.

That's weird, I normally have this problem when running from the debugging tool. Are you on winxp ?

Anyway you can do this, look for this line:

If Not Tools.FolderExist(szAppDir) Then szAppDir = "E:\NCP\MYDOCS\WSCRIPTs\MIDIX\EZ_AG_FRET" ' mbncp

Then between the 2 "" enter the folder of the hta file, make sure to end it with a backslash. Example:

If Not Tools.FolderExist(szAppDir) Then szAppDir = "C:\MIDIX"

I use Sony ACID to record, edit, loop, etc. When I play the guitar, I get both the tone selected on the computer, and one of the native tones from the controller. I also get this result while using MIDIOX. I guess I have two questions: How can I get only one tone? and Can anyone recommend to more comprehensive program for home studio use that can accommodate MIDI, analog, and loops? Please remember, I know almost nothing about MIDI technology.

All you have to do is stick a "little to big" converter in the quarter inch jack. This will stop the internal speaker from playing.

Also, if you press the Capo and Tuning buttons simultaneously, you can turn the internal speaker on and off using the + and - buttons.

Hello, greetings from Spain! I'm planning to buy a EZ EG in Japan, i think it comes with net adaptor and midi-usb cable. Well, i want to start learning play chords and experimenting a bit with the eg (also i have a conventional guitar too). The problem is that i am lefty. I see on this thread that you can "say" the ez to reverse the string tuning using certain parameters in a script. My questions are, i must send the script to the guitar, but how?? Once i have sended the script... are these settings stored or they will go when i turn off the guitar? Can be set the reverse tuning as a default? I have no knowing of midi and i dont need to use the ez as a midi controller, just for learning to play a bit...
Please excuse my lack of knowing and my rough english too, thanks a lot all of you for your time!!!

I got MIDIX running, got MIDIOX/MIDIYOKE running, it controls MIDI modules/VST instruments. It's great! Now I have to sift thru the thread for hammer on/pull off MIDIOX/sysex scripts to use.
