I have recorded a several guitar takes in Sonar 5.2 PE which are displayed as separate layers in a single track. I want to mute parts of each to take advantage of the best of each take. But I cannot get the mute to function as it did in Sonar 4. Applying mute by alt+drag over a selected time only mutes the entire clip. Is something wrong with the mute tool in PE 5.2?
I then tried to apply clip envelopes but these are very tricky to use - adding nodes and to manipulate in general is very awkward. I am stumped and extremely disappointed that Sonar 5 PE is so poor at such an important function.

There should be a click drag behavior setting so you can make this work as you want. Its in the toolbar above the track pane.
Hope that does it for you. EDIT: Mute tool is the icon of the circle with slash through it, and the setting is accessed from there.
