I forgot about Exciton. It was talked about a lot a few years ago, then nothing. I did not even know that version 2 had been release. My questions is does it offer anthing that I don't get with MiniMonsta?

Toxic is the other one listed a lot that I don't have. I'm just not sure I need another FM when I already have FM7, Rhino and Sytrus.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

I feel exciton offers alot that Minimonster doesn't. Don't get me wrong, minimonsta is gorgeous...but Exciton2 is just one of those necessary kit pieces.

I'm saving up for Minimonsta -- if it were just a Moog, I'd pass, but the combination with the Melohman feature is irresistible. But it may have to come after Antares Autotune, the biggest item on my 'left to buy' list.

Rabid: The only thing Toxic III could be thought to compete with is Octopus...it's a bargain, it has a great collection of presets, and its arp is really beautiful. Try the demo. Rhino is in a class of its own, of course! And Sytrus? -- well, it could be great if some independent devs produced some fresh presets for it, no?

Yes, Frank, that was the obligatory T3 lead-in line...

Yeah it was in my list too.

And was one of the first synths I made a KORESound template for because it just works so well with that analog feel and Exciton's sound and logical structure.

HI

I think some of the pad/ambient sounds that Exciton V2 comes with are way beyond what I have heard most similarly speced VA's serve up - also the lead sounds are very full and raw sounding.

In some respects it was a couple of years infront of the competition when released and is a synth that I would be hard pushed to give up.

A real gem.

Shame a few commercial preset banks are not available for it, as well.

I would, but I'm not allowed...as states my NFR license. However, I'm free to make all the Free banks I want for it publicly available...so maybe we'll see a ToTc Productions bank sooner or later. ;)

I've got an old, crappy bank for it up at Patch Arena if I remember correctly.

Peace

HI

I just think the synth has potential - as stated those pad/ambient sounds that appear at the start/end of every bank are in certain cases jaw dropping.

By all means come up with something in that vein and I will donate!
