Yeah that's a great idea! Do you mean non-processed as-is recording that we use to design the presets?

If that is the case we'll need a bunch of different styles for each of the categories? Like the 'clean' we'd need a small <1min recording of something consisting of broken chords, strummed chords, simple single notes, and harmonics. For the crunch and high gain we'd need some like 80bpm chunking, 150bpm chunking, full open chordings, a lead with tapping, and so on. For the synth maybe a nice balladesque thing?

Who wants to be brave and submit some DI'd specimens we can use for the preset compo? 16bit 44.1khz mono wav?

:)

Roll on the next release. What fun!
Awesome :) Look forward to your works.

hey fretted, i been playing around with freeamp 1.5 - and you know how you said the sync options for delay, tremolo etc are gonna be all the same? ie if i set the sync to 1/4 then if i use delay and tremelo then both will be locked in to 1/4? well that would be real bad - the more i think about it - like what if i want a delay set to 2 beats, and the tremelo synced to 1/8 of a beat? can i do that?

I beg you please let the syncs be independant! please! :D

Hello Matt

Yeh! I know what you are saying, the only down side is "real estate" The UI has so many things to fit on it! that the only way to be able to add sync seperately would be to go back to paged panels, which is what I am trying to get away from  I already have to revert to paged panels for the synth and I really did not want anything hidden.

Me myself I don't use host sync too much, I still like to grab the knob and turn it till it sounds right, but added it because I know many prefer to use sync. Let me see what I can come up with, for now in "manual" you can set any FX speed\time to any value you want but not in BPM (I kept it that way for the old-timers like me) :hihi: Don't know that it will make it in v2 but foresee many updates past there (not enough time in a day)So seperate sync dividers will be added to the list :) BTW the synth has its own beat divider already built in :D

just a quick example - theres more than enough space even on pedals with 3 knobs in the top row - just move em over a bit :)

Hello Matt

But that is not really what you were asking for? To me the switch for "manual, host sync, tap tempo" should be a global control either the whole plugin is locked to host sync or not?
Plus changing Ricks layout of the pedals knob placement would mess up the symetrics :( I can't do that when it looks so pretty :D Also you would be back to jumping to switches all over the plugin, when one switch would work?

What is required for what you ask is a dropdown for the bar divider on each FX? But all is not lost! I told you I would think about it and I did :D The place for such dropdowns would be in the already included sync tab at the bottom of the plugin.
Shrink the synth button down a bit and give dropdowns for each FX there :D Doubt that it will be in v2 ?? but who knows :)

Peace

yea - if the option to sync was global but the bar divider for each pedal was unique that would be better - but the best option is to have the option to have one pedal manual time, another synced - for ultimate flexibility :D

i still  it anyway :D

Yeh! But one thing I am trying to do, have been since I started two years ago on this plugin is ? Keep it as simple as possable! It has not been an easy thing to do? remove controls where you know that they could be a used to manipulate the tone.
But
Freeamp would then have way too many controls, 140 is starting to be quite large :hihi: the synth killed me to leave things out, but CPU and size was a concern! I kept it to 3% on my athlon 2400+, Thats a whole nother plugin waiting to be made :D

I am following this thread closely. When does this 2.0 get released? NB

ya that is a good question ;) Can I wager a guess? "when he's done with it" ... :)

The more I use FreeAmpSE 1.5 the more I like it!! For a clean sound I really like the way the amp is set up in the "Chimp" preset - I just slide the mic to the right a little for a more open sound and I would also turn down/off the delay for general use. To me it sounds Fender in the big clean surf/spy tradition. I do still use other VST's in conjunction with FreeAmp, but they just help round out the tone (and most of them probably should not be printed until mastering, so they really wouldn't belong in the amp sim anyway).

I actually ignored that Chimp preset many times before focusing on it last night. There are just so many possibilities with FreeAmp that there are bound to be a lot of presets that do not appeal to you when you first hear them and it is easy to miss the details of the amp sim itself when just indexing through the presets. There are some great detailed amp tones in there for sure, and all the power to tweak them to your own taste!!

From what I know he's working hard on it and is probably even more anxious than all of us to get it all done. I know I would be.

If you want to have some friendly gentlemans bets about when? I'd say July 1, but that's just because I know Joe is a hard worker and his track record on past projects I'd worked with him on indicate about that time, plus I got an email recently saying that he has quite a lot of work done with only EQ and guitsyn synth stuff left to implement with the new graphics.

It'd be excellent if it was done by July 4th, in the spirit of freedom and independence and all those things we American people love so much :)

Hopefully I didn't break confidence by saying what I did about the email, but I think it's harmless and he didn't say I couldn't update anyone else about it :)
