Yep, I had to do a 2nd mix because they were too loud and bass-y in my first one.bduffy wrote:his vocal
If you work with the dry vocals, it helps to cut the lows (-150 Hz), add compression (+/- 6 dB) and also add Delay/Reverb.

Unfortunately, the original vocals are as lousy as I could imagine any vocals to be.
Otherwise I might've given it a try, but as I'm usually working along vocals, this is a no-no for me. I hadn't even kept a single line of them if I were the original recording engineer. Sorry.

I've entered 2 remix competitions lately because I loved the vocals, Artful Dodger being one. This, however sounds pretty poor tbh. Doesn't inspire me at all.

Well... at least it's a song, I found it easier to remix a song than an instrumental. I guess I just used the vocal as part of the mesh of the rythmn and as an effect...
didn't occur to me to do any other thing with it.
