S.HUSH wrote:Well, it has been 1 year and 2 months since i have bought my Energy XT license and hitherto, i have mainly used it for making loops to mangle within Live and of course to create live templates etc.

I finally made my first IDM tune using nothing but Ext.

Sounds like you used glitch! Sounds great!! What always gives it away is that fm modulation sequuencer.. Im pretty impressed though..

I would like to hear some ambient synth pads though..

:scared: Glitch????? Never heard of it :P

:hihi: Yeah, i just downloaded it and i made a few tweaks to it for this tune and it just works.

Thanks for listening LIMIT and i'm glad you like it. :)

EDIT: as for the synth pads....i'll experiment but i have to be in the mood...you know how it goes. I need a break form this tune.

hi

bought xt also one year ago ... and tried ... and tried ... and ended up thinking about some live-performing-loop-mangeling-setup.

so this is my first projekt with a little live triggering and mangeling. nothing special just a test after intensive reading of posts out of this forum

Excellent stuff, guys!

Time for me to cough up some evidence as well :hihi:

Sequenced songs:

Brighter Shade (for the KvR Cafe Game II)

I'd like to travel north (made during a meeting on a cabin)

Recovery is not an option dark ambient

Direct "live" renders from modular arrangements:

Say Aga Gaa bit more restless

Algohol confused and lonely

Haven't really played these main window things to anybody, so comments are very welcome.

Turn Your Phantom On

OK, here's my first ever eXT song. Five of the tracks (guitar, vocals, and bass) were actually tracked on my Akai DPS16 and imported over to eXT...where I sequenced piano, drums (Kontakt 2 "Immigrant" kit), and synth (Crystal). There's a bit of Ambience on several tracks and some amp sim on the drums to fur them up a bit. Probably there will be an understated guitar lead in the quiet bits, eventually.

It's a rock song. :D

It's a great song, I like it a lot, especially the vocal.
I love the reverse effects and the "music box" sound.
I think the only thing I don't like are the drums. The drum fills need more snare hits, they sound synthethic like this.
I have the impression that the tambourine is too loud (I'm listening through headphones so don't take this for granted).

All in all a great tune :D

Thanks a lot, Branis! I dunno, I kinda like the spare fills...but I think you're right about the tambourine. I always misjudge how loud it's gonna sound, esp. when I've recorded a real one with a mic. This one was a sample though. Anyway, lemme figure out the volume envelopes and I'll fix that...I already rendered the MIDI track...
