Where can I download sets of free sample packs?

Not sure what format you are looking for, but you can get a whole ton of freebies at my own site www.nucleus-soundlab.com

in SF2 SFZ and Wusikstation format. You do have to sign up for a freebie newsletter to get the downloads, but trust me its painless and you are welcome to unsubscribe right after downloading if thats what you want... (though you'll miss out on some nice freebies in the future)

Any of the larger soundfont sites will probably give you galores. Hammersound.net and sf2midi.com coming to mind.
