I am new to using soft synths, so I have been experimenting with some simple free ones to start off with. I am using ACID 5.0. My question is this...is it possible to automate parameters within the soft synth in ACID? (i.e. I want to automate a cutoff sweep on the synth and record it). I have looked at all the options within ACID and can't find a way to do this. Any help is appreciated...thanks!!!

In Acid 6 you can record any knob tweak you make on the softsynth. For Acid 5 you have to know the midi CC number that corresponds to the soft synth's cutoff (or be able to set the number in the soft synth.) Then, when you open the track properties for your midi track that uses said soft synth, you can select that cc number at the bottom of the track properties window (it is set to velocity by default) and draw in a curve to automate the CC. Hope this helps.

if you are using vsti's the ACID6 upgrade is really worth it.

Excellent!! I just went out and bought it today. I haven't installed yet but I'm getting ready to. Someone told me that the mp3 plugin is included in this version...is this true?

automating vsti's in ACID 5.0...
