Not as many Reason users on KVR but esoundz customers are loving the Miroslav Refills. They're only now starting to get into the stores. Bottom line is there is no other high end orchestra for Reason so this accomplishes that with style. It is programmed every bit as quality as Miroslav Philharmonik which is one of our most popular plug-ins. Plus, it was a $4,000 orchestral and choir collection for many times less now. To be able to pick up just the strings for less than $200 is pretty amazing. The GOLD bundle is an even better deal.
The Combinators are really cool (like plug-ins inside Reason 3) and you get a lot of sounds per refill. Good for all styles of music too and the sounds sit well in the mix automatically. Hope that helps.

im interested in getting this refill. Can anybody tell me, what kind of velocity layers could I expect from an average sample bank in this collection?
And how's the piano?
thanks

Miroslav wasn't done with heavy duty velocity layers. So, maybe 1-2 typically. But, there are different playing style/sounds at different levels like pianissimo, mezzoforte, forte, double forte, not to mention many, many different articulations, the players play with FEELING that is rare in an orchestral library and it sounds great! It is the best orchestra you will find for Reason for sure. There really isn't another one that is complete like this anyway.timfarman wrote:im interested in getting this refill. I'm a Reason user and I use Miroslav Philharmonik in Cubase. Great plug-in!!!
I have download one Miroslav refill(Brass) from internet (1.5 Giga). Sounds really amazing, and Squids is right, this is best orchestra refills for Reason.
What is good in Reason, that patches not eat CPU to much. I can easy use 30 instruments (NN-XT), it's work fine.
Wait to buy Miroslav Refill Gold Bundle on www.esoundz.com.

Ummmm.Hmmm. People downloading our refills without paying for them isn't too thrilling to hear about I must admit. We put a lot of effort and expense into making this product so we hope that people buy it and not copy it or download it illegally.
So, yes, please DO buy it from www.esoundz.com
But, I think we might do a group buy on the Miroslav Gold bundle. What do you guys think of that???? Could be good. Also Philharmonik owners can crossgrade to it for cheap u know.

The thing that excited me with Philharmonik was the stretch features that the sampler plug-in offered allowed for more realistic glides and pitch bends. Unfortunately the Combinator/tools in Reason doesn't offer any such facility and so I'm hesistant to go ahead and buy the refills. I would rather save up for the full Philharmonik however the whispered words of a group buy have excited me for sure...
(would rather the group buy on Philharmonik though of course

Thanks. Well, when we do products like that where it isn't tied down with codes and dongles we rely on the honor system. Maybe that is why other companies don't bother even doing their full orchestra products for Reason. But, we love Reason 3 and saw that there was a gap/need for a really good complete orchestra, especially for use with the Combinator.
But, it IS true that part of the unique power of Philharmonik is what the engine can do. It really makes the samples come alive and is very performance flexible etc. Obviously with whatever sampler platform we're working in we are limited by whatever that sample engine provides. With Philharmonik since SR worked in deep cooperation with IK we were able to even custosmize the SampleTank engine so it could have global effects and some other things that suited the module (like the built-in CSR verb preset).
Well, the rule on group buys is usually not straight ahead the same skus that the stores are stocking. So since Philharmonik the plug-in is a hot seller for stores it would be sort of disrespectful to put it on a group buy (and actually, I was surprised to see some other orchestral plug-ins on group buys without consideration of the stores like that). But, if there is a special bundle or something that is either not available in stores OR if it is just something stores are slow to stock up on (like the Miroslav Gold which is maybe the most expensive refill collection ever made) then... it COULD be a candidate for a group buy! Why not? Let me see what I can do about that. We'd really need the help of word spreading though for a refill group buy because KVR doesn't really support Reason (not open platform) and it the word would have to spread even more than usual to other sites. But, this could be a chance to have a STELLAR orchestra for Reason at the most reasonable price.
Oh, you CAN crossgrade from the refills to the plug-in for the price of the crossgrade. It is just something that can only be done through SR because IK's system only auto-qualifies registered ST's that qualify. You can do it the other way for about the same price if you have the plug-in and want the refill Gold. It isn't there on the site but we would do it. If you are buying a bunch of other things at the same time maybe even less! We're pretty cool that way and want to incent you to get what you think you'll use. I can see people wanting the Refills and the plug-in. I would. When I am in "Reason mode", it is nice to have the Sonic Refill Gold and the Miroslav Refill Gold because you just have almost anything you'd need to write with fast and on a laptop you can get some serious mileage.
I'd say on the group buy it is 90% possible at this point. I will update you guys on it perhaps this coming week. Curious if people would get into it and really spread the word to Reason users. I guess I could ask Props to make an announcement. That might help actually. SR is pretty tight with them and they really appreciate our dedicated support.
