Too lazy to do a lot of research, so I'll ask you guys. I'm basically looking for a library of really killer pads... long, lush, evolving, inspirational... etc etc etc.
Am considering Atmosphere, but I'd like more options.

PrecisionSound's Ethereal - Halion, Kontakt and soundfont. Check the demos on that page.
I haven't tried vapor but I've heard it's good.

Not to get too DIY here, but pads are one of the easiest sounds to create by sampling. Bump up the attack, decay, and release and maybe shorten the sustain, if needed add delay. Mess around with various samples, adsr settings, and effects and it will lead to an unlimited number of unique pads.
Always remember that others may hate you but those who hate you don't win unless you hate them. And then you destroy yourself.

I have Atmosphere so can highly recommend that (but you know it)
I also have Cakewalk Dimension which has some excellent pads (the Pro version is VSTi)
But what I really would like and from the demos sounds like a great alternative to Atmosphere is Linplug Sophistry - some lovely sounds coming from this it seems.

how about create your own? layer 2 to 4 pads and vuala: http://www.argitoth.com/files/heavenlyPADS.mp3
(4 layers of Surge)
then you can take one of those programs that exports synths in wave form like chainer, load them into a good sampler like shortcircuit, loop-crossfade them, and there you go. works like a charm.
