Interesting information, tq.
I actually bought some sample CDs 2nd hand based on that knowledge (all of them but one *way* back, probably wouldn't do it again, just couldn't let the opportunity of buying Kick Ass Brass in EXS format pass), but I could very well imagine that the laws on the entire matter will change pretty soon in germany as well.
I mean, we all know what's happening here - people will copy the CDs content onto their drives and still continue using it. In case they keep the original receipe of purchase, nothing could ever happen to them - they could as well have lost the CD ("in dubio pro reo" anyone?). So, in the end, only if the original buyer AND the person you sold the CD to would be asked for any prove there'd be any problems. And even in that case the 2nd hand buyer could still say he/she'd lost the original bill - he'd still have the original CD.
A very grey area to be sure. And of course the very reason why almost each and every sample library company is starting to sell their content bound to some more or less rigidly copy protected player instruments.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

i don't think that selling even the downloadable software is an issue in Germany. You actually don't buy the software, you buy the license to use it by means of a serial number. Most of the times the software can be freely downloaded from the vendors site.
So selling the software means deleting all you installation and passing the serial number. No copy needed!

The situation changes if the serial number is tied to the user name. That software can not be selled.

IN no way should a plug like Inspector (as good as it may be) be anywhere near $300. I mean no one "needs" a plug like this, thats just a crazy price, but we all know it, so it doesnt matter that this fool continues to amaze.

I beg to differ. I think a K-scale meter should be mandatory for anyone who owns a mastering limiter..

I'm just glad I got IXL and Firium already before this happened!

Cool - my software just appreciated. Again... :)
