299USD?! That'S (once again) more than the first release. And we EA users still didn't get any upgrade options. What did he change anyway? This is the same f*cking core engine just with his logo. And it's a f*cking ugly one at that too.

DUH! I really feel like flying over and smack him into his face the hard way. He recently had another "spotlight" at Sound on Sound, too. And F*CK! Not only was he talking BS there (once again), he's also friggin ugly (mullet! get back to the 80ies you freak!) and just because he mixed some "popular people", doesn't mean he's a great engineer.

Oh how do I wish Bob Katz bought up Elemental Audio and not Roger Nichols. Nichols is really a friggin cowardly asshole. I guess we all know why his boards are still down - he fears the obviously negative feedback. I mean... he doesn't even answer in here, and nobody knows how much he sold already either. (if there're enough idiots buying this stuff for his price, he must be rich by now - along to his "big deal" daily jobs).

At least he kept the name of Inspector XL. Still a f*cking ripoff if you have to pay extra for the iLok. It's not even a boxed version and import prices will be intense, too!!!

Reminds me of Waves. You have to pay twice as much for the name "Waves", even though the plugins are only worth as much as Kjaerhus and Voxengo plugins (who're way better for the price, btw).

The most ugly thing being that he probably will get along fine with his tactics.
There's no reference to Elemental Audio anymore, the plugins are looking different, the names have mostly changed as well, you got no forum or other user comments.
I'm sure he's hoping that these plugins will be perceived as something genuinely new by the market he's aiming at.
In a few months the "Elemental Audio bought by..." threads will not be among the top 100 threads of whatever boards anymore either, so there's nothing left reminding one anymore, so he could then safely start advertising among his new target market.

I'm really afraid that this asshole and lying swine will get away with it.

He will. However, theres still other devs which make plugs that work just as well for a much lower price and without an iLok. And if theres something unique, whats stopping anybody from copying it and making it better and releasing it for free/cheap?

To be fair, this probably refers to RN's own line of plugins which have been in development for some time. Can't find a link to them atm but I've seen screenshots of some plugins with...erm...interesting GUIs and names like Bitchinizer.

1. As I just posted, RN is developing his own not yet released line of plugins. This is probably what the blurb refers to.

2. RN didn't buy anyone out. He made a licensing/distribution deal with EA. EA retains ownership of all plugins, they're just marketed under the RN brand. This is all in the EA FAQ.

I'm as upset as anyone about the price hike and will have to think long and hard on whether I want to "upgrade" to the RNized versions of these plugins but can we at least keep the criticism accurate?

Well, EA are also party to this. They must have known this is what the marketing would look like. They certainly haven't made any protests that I can see. Judging by their own comments, the big name and reputation of RN seems to have been the main reason they entered into this agreement in the first place.

oh, wow, Inspector XL 77 MB O_o Oh well... We'll see about if I care enough to buy the iLok. At least after having problems installing Waves software to my friends computer. The iLok BSOD'd the computer, which was nice.

IN no way should a plug like Inspector (as good as it may be) be anywhere near $300. I mean no one "needs" a plug like this, thats just a crazy price, but we all know it, so it doesnt matter that this fool continues to amaze.

Well, that is "just" an increase from of about $10 of the regular (EA) price it was before. It is not nice but it is not that much of a jump up (like for the others)
