Yo y'all:

I'm putting together the July issue of Texas Music Forge and have been collecting outtakes and leftovers that might be of interest to you producers, remixers and songwriters. They're all either loops or one shots in .wav format and all recorded dry except for some compression on the drums and a bit on the bass. They're bundled in a 21 Mb zip file at:

This month is a grab bag of bass, drums and voiceover. There are 7 bass samples in the key of "B" that would work well for funk, house, R&B, trance and other rhythm-oriented music styles. There are 3 drum files of 16 bars each which would work well for pop, ambient, electronica, rock, country or blues. The song they were taken from was recorded around 88 bpm as a ballad, but these loops will work well for a variety of tempi.

The voiceover files require a bit of a warning. They are taken from "In Summer Heat" by the Roman poet Ovid and are blatantly sexual in nature, as was Ovid and much of his poetry. There is no language not found in Shakespeare or the Old Testament, but just be aware of the content. The phrases are reflected in the titles of each voiceover file and would be excellent as seasoning if you drop them into your favorite editing program, tart them up and drop them into your hip hop or dance remixes. You can hear the entire work narrated/rapped with an ambient funk music bed at:
