I have had very similiar problems CinningBao. For a good while, I thought it wasn't working because I need that ms library installed... turns out I did not have to install it because I am on SP2. The library was not the issue at all. It seems that I can not have both versions of Discord installed and functioning at the same time. Only one or the other will work, depending on which one I installed last... If I install 2.0, 1.5 will no longer open. No errors, no nothing. It just simply will do nothing when I try to open it within Mulch. If I try in FL, it tells me it is not a valid plugin and needs to be registered. If I then reinstall 1.5, it will work. However, 2.0 will not now.
I have been going back and forth with Chris about this via email, but have not come up with any good solutions as of yet. The problem continues even if I install both versions of Discord to seperate folders. It would appear to me that there is a conflict somewhere with Discords registry keys... very frustrating because 2.0 is quite rad... but I have older tracks that use 1.5, so I need to keep it around and functioning too

Damn it, that's annoying - to be honest I always suffered from denormalisation issues on 1.5 (after about 10 seconds of silence to the input cpu goes WWAY up and my host gives up trying to process sound) which is why I want to get discord2 running so badly!
when will I hear it? it sounds like you're saying that if I remove discord1.5, 2 should work? I'll try it when I get home.
thanks for the pointer.

I find listening to this:

while staring at this:

brings me an odd sense of calm.

HI
I also got an exception/lock up when opening the about screen in XT.
I used to get exception at times with V1.5 and couldn't save a song that had it loaded.
It could be my set-up though as I run a pretty lean XP set-up (IE - lot's of sevices turned off).
Flipper.

can confirm the exception in XT, when opening the about screen.
in 1.5 i got them when trying to close the project with the discord gui closed. maybe try that, flipper - when the discord 1.5 gui remains open, the song should save just fine. at least it always did for me.

Right about now, Chris is probably clawing randomly at the air around him against an enemy only he can see..
The good news is that the guy is never off, and he'll have this sorted sharpish. Post the exception codes and your system information so he can get it fixed.

yes, it would be nice to have the choice of linear operation on the knobs, instead of having to hold option.

Okay, with the "About" screen problem, this is a bug in the current version of VSTGUI. It'll be fixed when VSTGUI is updated and we rebuild Discord 2 against the new kit.
The easiest solution is to not look at the "About" screen for now, I'm sorry to say. Which is kind of a drag because it's one of my better ones.
As for the problems VanEck is having, I'm working on those right now. As soon as I can get the Bat People to stop attacking me...
