Have you extracted some sample and opened it in some wave editor?

I don't have the soundfont to check, but it is possible that there are loop points but that looping is not enabled. If you own a Creative Labs soundcard Vienna is a freeware editor that works great. I prefer version 2.3 to 2.4 YMMV. If you don't have a C-Labs card instead get the editor Viena [sic] from the Synthfont site. And, if you get ambitious and decide to create you own loops, Zero-X Seamless Looper is a great program to do that with.

I tried to open Vienna but it wouldn't work 100% since I don't have a compatible card (EMU 0404). It did launch, but wouldn't play the sample. I only saw one instance of the wav file in there which leads me to believe that the 400+ soundfonts are nothing more than single one-shot samples.
I could be totally wrong. If someone wants, PM me and I will send you one soundfont to look at.

Try Viena (different prog to Vienna, hence the single 'n').markdeaton wrote:I tried to open Vienna but it wouldn't work 100% since I don't have a compatible card (EMU 0404). dam what a sad thread to start ,
surley you can loop them yourself , or dont you know how ?
400+ sounds for 3.75 is a deal in my opinion , and im gonna get some of that too
and besides ,I think i am talented enough to get some serious use out of them Wavs, looped or 1 shot , i will probbaly end up making my own sounds , man , get a grip , if you wanna cry over a loop point then go out and spend a grand on the real thing, daym.

Yeah, for that price I wouldn't really expect good (or any) looping. Looping is alot of work if done properly!
But at the same time the fact that they are unlooped should be very clearly stated in the ad.

I suppose he should put looped and unlooped on all the cds and other packs too , that way he would keep the untalented moaners happy too! , i have bought loads of packs from sampleoidz dot com , and to be frank , i cant wait for new packs to arrive , because the sample packs i have bought from there are the best i have bought on the net !!!
i know for sure some of the other soundfonts are looped for sure the emu orbit one is awsome!! to say the least .
so don't let the minor things hold you back from getting good sounds , that in my opinion are intended to please all producers and not ripp them off.

The seller (you?) claimed that they were looped and they were not.If you have sampled anything in your life you know that looping is the most labour intensive task of all.
The recordings in them self are next to worthless unless they're looped. Any moron can sample a synth.
If you're so f**king talented can you tell me how long time it would take to loop 400+ samples with an acceptable standard ?
This is a ripoff, end of story.

Yes he's stupid, there's no question about that. But hey... the world would be a boring place without stupid people. Plus I need people like him commenting so I can feel smart!
Anyway, yep I got ripped off. Woot!

Oh and by the way, soundfonts SHOULD consist of multiple samples (hopefully at least 1 per step). These only consist of one.
Again, someone with some knowledge please PM me if you want to dig into one.

It'd still be interesting to know whether these are at least multi-mapped samples. In that case, looping them might make sense.

So not multisampled either... Sloppy. And typical of eBay samples 'deals'. He probably sampled the whole thing in an hour or two.markdeaton wrote:Oh and by the way, soundfonts SHOULD consist of multiple samples (hopefully at least 1 per step). These only consist of one.
*coughs* its not jp8080, but if you are looking for fat supersaws, and jp8080-esque stuff, might I suggest my own soon-to-be-released Viral Outbreak?
Multisampled, perfectly looped - I'm a perfectionist
