Ambience ?

Hi Guys , Just wondering whats happened to ambience getting released with a gui and presets ? , seems like an age since i seen this proposed release...

i hope ALL the freeware developers dont start taking this step or starting to charge for thier previously availabe as freeware plugins too

I can see what you mean... but I also know I've put in lots lots of work on this thing. There's a saying that the last 20% of a project takes 80% of the time. That's also why it's taking longer than we thought. The next version won't be free because simply put, the last piece of finishing it up and polishing it is not fun at all. For example, I (and Bram and Duncan too) spent like two weeks looking for one bug that happened in ONE host on SOME machines...
I am very grateful to everyone who has donated. They will get a reward. I am just hoping for some more money in return for all my efforts, because I've crossed the line where it feels more like a job than fun.
I hope you understand.

We did a poll on what users thought and the big majority seemed to agree with the shift from "free" to smartware.

You get the full version of a SmartWare plugin if you eighter:

1) send a work of art to the creator.

Work of art being defined as a CD (with your music, or a NON-COPIED CD you really like), a t-shirt, a painting, boxed software, .....

or

2) pay ANY amount larger than $10 to the creators paypal account.

I.e. you yourself decide how much the plugin is worth to you!

Sounds really decent to me. I would be perfectly happy to pay you - let's say - 20 bucks or more, as soon as the GUI-version is out. When about do you think we can expect the release?

Having toyed with Ambience, I reckon $10 is daft money.... no one can complain at that....

Last bug we found took us 2 weeks

And now the beta-testers have found two more!!
