as will freeze in fl studio or you can kiss it goodbye due to competion and being useable as a closed program only due to cpu consumption.Jason Brian Merrill wrote: hehe i know this will be addressed in a future update, but that is one ridiculous workaround
The FLStudio 6.1 beta looks to have great features!!!

It would be more convenient if it could be done directly indeed.Jason Brian Merrill wrote:hehe i know this will be addressed in a future update, but that is one ridiculous workaroundloomchild wrote:Not in mono, but from a mono source, yes. no apps support dual cores, they don't even know about them.
To resume
-will FL run flawlessly on your dual core system? yes
-will it fully use your 2 cores? no, far from it
-will your system be as stable as a single-core? no. Any app has bugs, and some of them will occur much often on your dual core system than on a single core.

it's up to you, I'm just saying that your dual core won't make FL 2x faster, but you have other apps

yes, don't buy a dual core. The only benefit for you in FL would be a smoother GUI even at high mixing CPU usages.

..and I wasn't replying to you, but to kev. In fact, I didn't reply anything to you because I knew it was to start a flame war, while kev asked a clear question: is it worth buying a dual core CPU for FL.
To flame threads about dual core, freezing, PDC and god knows what else, you won't get an answer from me.

if you're loaded and have money to waste, buy a dual core. It'll make FL work better & more smoothly. But it will NOT give you a 2x better CPU usage, that's all.
now a dual core will also, and in any app (except those that aren't buggy, if they exist), make some bugs occur more often. That's why I'd personally not use a dual core system.

Si is this enough proof to you? As you can see he is not interested in any way and its just fine with me. One day he will maybe consider it. Until that moment and from that moment i will still use both. Cubase and fl. I will repeat that i only wish i could use more from my setup within FL. But that is all. FL is fine even superb to me.
And he's totally full of shit... as usual. For starters my new dual core Toshiba notebook was about $600-700 cheaper than the single processor Centrino notebook, also by Toshiba, that I bought last year.
I have yet to notice any difference in stability either.
What a fuckin' jackass. Always blaming his own delusional biases on factors that usually only exist in his own mind.

Then you would know you can record Fx into a wav. Quit blaming FL Studio for your shortcomings both in knowledge and equipment.hitman8081 wrote:yup.loomchild wrote:You know all the tricks indeed.hitman8081 wrote:because you cant record fx into a wave. and its anoying as hell.

nvm.
define:beta
this term has migrated from computer and software development, and is usually used as "beta site." It means test site or test version. Beta is not the final version of a product or website, but it's close enough to show in public and work the bugs out.

This is simply the first beta of 6.1. It is set to expire on August 1st, at which time the next beta or version will be brought out.hitman8081 wrote:is this a beta meaning that its a beta only or is it now fully working meaning its safe to upgrade to v6.1?

btw, freeze is definetly a worthy feature. if its done right, it can help alot, even on newer computers, with all of these cpu hungry synths and fx -- and of course libraries that take up GB of hdd space.
