OK with all the fuss about how great the new version of Acid is I've now installed the demo (eventually got over my fear of NET). I don't like the helpfile though - its not explaining things clearly enough for me. I expected to be able to drag midi and audio clips I recorded myself just the same way as you can drag/paint imported wavs but it doesn't seem to work the same way (it does in Project 5/2). Dragging on an imported wav makes the audio clip repeat itself but doing this with recorded midi or audio just makes a load of empty space. Are there key commands I need to use while dragging or do I need to do something else first? I tried the usual alt or ctrl drag but nothing changed - how do you drag to timestretch recorded audio too? In Project 5 you just drag anything and it repeats indefinately and you can use key commands to change the role of the drag to stretch stuff too.

Wavs come in three variations.....loop (which will loop as you drag it) one shot (which will be a one shot :P ) and beatmapped (generally longer files at 30 secs + which are the same basically as oneshots, but beatmapped) if you right click on them and select clip properties, then there a box that says 'acid type' you can select from the three variations there.

As for midi right click on it again, go to the extended part of the menu at the top and select loop.

Seriously, i'm as thick as two short planks :P once you figure out a few things it genuinely does become very intuitive.
