im running about 8 insturments in freeze with a total of about 15 channels, i have 512 ram if that has anyhtin to do with it.

i have been working with cubase for over 15 years....a simple solution to your problem would be to bounce the vst instrument down to audio files...if sections of your music repeats..dont bounce the whole track..bounce the section to disk once and then copy it..ie..all the chorus play the same part...so bounce the chorus 1 time and copy where needed...you must remove the instruments from the project to free up the cpu...anywhere the recording is unessary long break it down to sections and copy...this will work...

Your audio files are too long or too many...u need to break them down to repeated sections...or start submixing parts ...using audio mix down....you must use your internal IDE hard drive and not an external drive...and a scsi drive would be best....if this does not help provide specs of your system...or let me know if u still r not clear as to what I am recommending...reagrdless of cpu or disk it is a computer and will still act funning regardless of what the meters are saying...reduce your plugin load....instead of mixing down 3 minutes of audio....mix down a 45 second block (chorus) and repeat when necessary
