Are the filters for the delay lines supposed to completely modify the dry signal?... because when I try to HP or LP the delay line, I'm getting about half the dry signal with whatever filter cut I try. So the filter effect is more or less muted

Not at all, the dry signal should be the same, it passes directly from in to out.
Did you find this on all my delays? so I can check?
Peace.

Yes. On all the DEELAYS I absolutely cannot get a purely filtered delay line. There is always a dry signal with it. I tried the 2 Deelays, Delay Micro and P-Deelay and got the same result.
Try it with full wet signal (like a send). In my trial I panned the full wet signal from a single delay line and was not able to get any filter action in it at all. Trying to moderately tweak the filter leads to huge feedback explosion/distortion, even with the feedback slider at less than half. I think BP was especially finnickey in that respect.
I think distortion is not the right technical term, but it's the effect you sometimes get when an unstable or beta plugin craps out and releases a huge burst of noise and stops working. Anyone whose tried Buzzmachines should know what that is.
I hope this helps out. I really like these delays for their simplicity and when I finally got down to using them properly ... I'm actually surprised nobody has mentioned this before. CHEERS!!

Well, I checked with two deelay models but couldn't find anything wrong.
I set the dry/wet knob all the way to wet, choose a delay line, turn the filter knob to half the freq (HP) and I get absolutely no sound.
however, is worth to mention that the first delay cycle is unaltered, I mean, the first delay will have no filtering, the second will, and it will morph progressively on each feedback pass, maybe that is the reason you think you get dry signal?

I'll check again and get back to you. Thanks for looking into it. Did you get any really loud noises at all, especially tweaking feedback? I'll run through it again and get back to you...

Do you mean trying to get loud noises out of deelay? I don't think so (unless you increase a lot the out gain) deelays, and overdubber has that "limiter" knob (that should be named maximizer instead) ...it's a basic limiter I implemented to avoid getting harsh noises even if you turn the resonance and feedback all the way up.Debutante wrote:Did you get any really loud noises at all, especially tweaking feedback?

My sincere apologies Mr. Spyro. I had been trying to use the delays with somewhat long synth sounds where the filter effect is not as apparent. After finally trying it out on a small hat sound, the delays do indeed sound progressively filtered. Sorry about that scare
I was after the unique ability of your delays to pick panned sounds only and hadn't thought of trying a variety of inputs to sort out the filtering problem.
It's alot easier to hear the filters in short sustained one-shots, that it is with longer notes, especially since, as you say, the first delay cycle is unaltered. If I'd carefully spent a little more time, I might have discovered that. So once again, sorry for the mix up, and thanky you kindly for your support.
As for the noise, I don't know. I was aware of the limiter on the plugins, which is one reason I was a little surprised about it. It wasn't the sound of increased feedback; it didn't get louder and louder in a manner that would encourage you to look for a panic button. It was a completely sudden burst. If it happens again consistently I'll let you know, but till then, thanks again!

No probs man
At least this made me re check for probs, and now I want to revise all deelay series and make some changes.

Yey : cool !Spyro wrote:this made me re check for probs, and now I want to revise all deelay series and make some changes.
Imust say that i like deelays, the presets are very good (centrifuge, verby, etc.), but i think the interface of your plugins are really better now (sxcratch, mr green, daft funk...), and they are more easy to understand/to tweak than Deelays (there is so many little knobs to tweak !!)
Your plugins are nice
