Rather than start another thread, I thought I could post a bug I just found here:

When GSnap tries to drop a pitch below the 40Hz threshold, it causes the audio to stop working and the app to freeze up. The app and Windows both report no CPU usage, but the system won't do anything. No blue screen of death though.

I can reliably reproduce this error using both Cubase LE and VSTHost (did it 2x on each).

I bet they allocated a buffer long enough to hold a single wave cycle, and thought "nobody's gonna be singing that low".
And whenever a software developer says "nobody's gonna xxx, you can bet your last dollar that sooner or later, somebody's gonna xxx in spades. :wink:

Well, it's not super important, since I had to tweak it to a single note and play my bass through it to get it to crash. I was really playing with the behaviors of it to get a feel for it. While in most situations it works great with some tweaking, I figured gy would want to know about that.

Hello everyone. Firstly, GSnap was designed to deal with pitches down to 40 Hz, and all of the buffers have been sized accordingly.

That said, I've just recreated your problem by setting the Min Freq to 40 Hz and sending a 40 Hz sine wave through it (don't try it). 39 Hz didn't break it and neither did 41. This suggests that there's a problem right on the boundary.

Anyway, the important thing is that I can recreate the problem now, which means I can fix it :).

Sorry it's taken a while, but lately I haven't had much time between work, social events and the World Cup.
