I haven't commented in any of the EA/RN threads till now but this new advertising is indeed disingenuous. :(

The 'pro-user' price hike, with no apparent difference from the EA plugs in functionality, is astonishing. The artwork and names would be funny under any other circumstances.

I wonder if these plugins will be mentioned by RN in his next SOS column?

Fortunately he has put out the covers in a high resolution... Have you ever seen Voxengo did that? No, thought so. This must really be good stuff.

Unfortunately im no pro, so I cant even imagine the price for me. Guess I have to stick with voxengo.

If I were selling a product with artwork and names like those, I'd keep the covers as small as possible... ;)

I guess they're for journalists to download and use in their stories, though.

... and the download of INSPECTOR is 77 mb!?
What is implemented in that package? Games, pictures from his holiday...?

Post

i think that question came up in another thread. Maybe it's 77mb of those great RN presets.... ;)

Er... Babya Dynam-Izer? No  ?
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

"With my name on the box, you know that you're getting power, density and all of the signal-processing tricks that I have been employing as a successful session engineer and producer," Nichols confides.
Oh my god!

Gotta love this quote as well:
A moron named Roger Nichols wrote:I want plug-ins that will bring sparkle and focus to my project, and now I can make them available to everyone else.
Just as if they weren't available before.

And this:
The initial five DAW plug-ins have been co-developed by Roger Nichols Digital and Elemental Audio.
Yeah, sure... co-development my ass!

Sorry for my ignorance, but is there a history regarding this individual or products?

This must be an elaborate joke, like Babya. That press release.. I'm saving it for future generations: "This is how I tried to assfuck the PTHD userbase" - Roger Nichols

Absolutely.

In addition, while Mr. Nichols might be an excellent engineer, he doesn't have to seem much of a clue when it comes to the principles of digital audio.

A quote from the last link, which pretty much says everything:
I have a lot of respect for fighter pilots, but I'm not going to give much weight to their explanations of the nuts and bolts of aerodynamics. Roger Nichols is an ace fighter pilot.

Well, at least he has been successful in stupidizing these plugins.
I think things like this devalue our craft in many ways.
Even if EA cuts off the deal and goes back to former ways, I'll have trouble trusting them.
