Yes I know, and how do you find them? ie do you like them?

note the ubercool temporary absorbtion panels :-D I've got a packet of those waiting to be fabricated. Other end of the room is already lightly treated, and that's where the hifi normally resides.

I'll take better fotos some other day :-)

i dig that little lamp. is it ikea?

Post

eXT & IKEA, yes :-)

That's not the relaxation spot, it's the Office - if I just want to chill I take the VAIO and Evolver to the other end of the room and lounge on the couch 8-)

Maybe the funnest(word?) little box i ever owned; so quick and easy to mash loops together.
Modded though? Brought the line out/in out through a busted pad or something?

the green plates on the floor act as triggers. the original plan was to have 16 of them, that would then trigger noises and motors as people walked around a room looking at some mechanical insects i started building. once i've built a device that's as flat as possible maybe i'll finish the project. in the meantime my son is testing the robustness.

Hey knockman, this made me remember when I was 20 and I wanted to sleep in my girlfriend's home because her parents were out but she had a very old grandmother walking in the house by night and we built a big carpet trigger at the entrance of the room that triggered the radio set to max volume to wake up us if the grandmother slowly arrived in the night...
... I had a shock when the radio started to play "another brick in the wall" at max volume at 4:10am... ehhh...

I'm settled in at a hotel in surnadal, where i will be working recording sound for a motion picture. I've set up my traveling composing studio in my hotel room :)

Okay, I've been meaning to post some

...this is from 2003, before I got the new DAW. Just imagine on the table by the mixer.

Gotta resize some more pics, but this shot gets most of it in.

In this pic, in the foreground is my seriously-in-need-of-repair Crumar Performer.

On the table is:
Roland MC-303
Roland TR-606
Roland TR-707
Yamaha DX-200
Unseen before the table is my MIDI controller (Evolution MK361-C)

The mixer is a 16-channel Peavey SRC 421-16 (ancient, used it live back in the late '80's during my synth-pop band phase)

The black FX rack holds my Fostex 8-track reel-to-reel and Alesis MIDIVerb I & III, though you can't see them. On top is a Roland EF-303 FX box and a Yamaha QX5 MIDI sequencer.

The synth rack at the back is, from top to bottom:
Minimoog Model D
Roland JX-3P
Ensoniq EPS

The closet, known lovingly as ARP Alcove has, top to bottom:
ARP Axxe #1
ARP Sequencer
ARP Axxe #2
And below, unseen, is a Roland RS-202 string ensemble

The studio monitors are Alesis Monitor One Mk2 and the knobular looking device in the far right of the picture (and which provides the image in my current sig) is actually only the front panel for a DIY PAIA modular analog synth project that I never finished. It's nothing more than potentiometers and jacks mounted on a plexiglass front. it was going to be the front panel for testing and tuning the PC boards. I have enough Curtis chips and the printed circuit boards for a 4 VCO, 4 VCF, 4 VCEG and 4 VCA modular, but I don't have all the other electronics, potentiometers, jacks and (most importantly) power supply and front panels. I suck at finishing DIY projects!
