Hey guys, I know this is my first post an all, but does anyone know a way to produce a vocoder effect similar to Beck on Hell Yes ?
Kinda sounds like Soundwave from Transformers ?
Cheers

A lot of hosts come with a vocoder effect plugin. If you're using Cubase, load the "Vocoder" effect in an audio track (the track you're wanting to vocode) and create a midi track with the "In" set as your midi controller (if you're using one) and the "out" pointing to the vocoder. It's really quite simple. Arm the Midi Track, and the audio track (you'll probably want to be monitoring this as well)- and press record. play some keys. talk like a robot. Hope this helps. If you're not using Cubase, hopefully someone else can help

Check out Ranan by Trubia Labs. I think there is a preset called Transformers that kind of sounds like what you want. Best of all, you do not need to do half of what loveless described (even though it probably sounds better). Ranan works as a normal effect, so there is no need for any synth, just your vocals.
