Does Syntendo sound like a NES?

When patched as such, yes!

Works correctly here, tried in:

eXT (latest beta)
FL5
FL6
OP6

Sounds suitably old school, will have a play later.

One guy sent me an email and said that it only outputs sound on the left channel.

Syntendo is set to monophonic output internally... that shouldn't be happening.

Is that happening to you?
This problem was at old versions VSTHost. Maybe the guy use any old VSTHost that he hear only left channel.

my list;

1. secret of monkey island PC
2. sanitarium PC
3. halflife PC
4. max payne PC
5. street fighter 2 turbo SNES

:) sanitarium is like the best/deepest adventure game IMO great story, insanely artistic and creepy. secret of monkey island is hillarious, most of the SoM games are a blast and funny as hell. max payne - the only FPS i beat without cheating :) and street fighter 2 turbo i played for like 4 or 5 years both at arcade and at home with buddies and i was master of Ryu, and could kick the ass of almost anyone except for sagat sometimes on the standup ;)

halflife 2 freaking rules. i have it for xbox and it's definitely awesome and worth mentioning. same with GTA san andreas, except i get bored with games that mirror reality because i'm too nice hehe. if you like GTA san andreas try simpsons road rage - it's like a cute simpsons GTA - definitely fun!

my favorite NES game: castlevania 2 (yes i know this isn't the best one but it was the most fun for me) and solar jet man.

Monkey Island was fantastic, but not better than the other 5 listed for PC. I think I liked Full Throttle more.

Half-Life is a ton of fun, but the story is so full of loose ends, red herrings, and cockteases it would even piss David Lynch off.

I found Sanitarium to be way overrated. Maybe it gets better later on. I stopped playing after 10 minutes because I got sick of the fact that every time I did anything, from talking to someone to examining something, the game constantly had to stop the CD drive, start the CD drive, then stop the CD drive again, over and over. Bad programming there. Play Bad Mojo Redux or Toonstruck. :p

Works good in Energyxt here as well. I actually like the synth better with bit reduction off, but its capable of some great sounds... Not very emulative, but great sounds is great sounds yes?

great free tool, thanks jack

Full Throttle ruled. probably the pinnacle of lucas arts 2D stuff. with you there.

hahaha, yes this is true. I think I overlook that because when it came out I was in love because no other FPS at the time (except for maybe -- and this is stretching it -- strife did anything remotely decent storyline wise).

ahh yeah that does suck, i didn't mind it so much as I had a fast burner/reader (a plextor 8x i think it was then and it wasn't one of the spin-up spin-down spin-up drives it was pretty good. i didn't beat sanitarium but got close. the story was incredible.

another good one is the neverhood :)

As far as FPS with story, again, Thief 1, Deus Ex, or System Shock 2. Here we are 6+ years later and I have as of yet to see any FPS better than those.

But, Bioshock and Dark Messiah are still on the way...

Well, this VSTi certainly made me laugh.
Inasmuch as I've been playing with it all day and can easily turn it into yet another Jack-Dark-patented freak-out machine. Nintendo? Yes, the presets.
In runagate's hands? Madness.

10 greatest games of the old days:

BC's Quest For Tires (C64) <- Jump,sucker!
Turrican II (Amiga) <- Amazing gameplay and the music is killer!
Zelda III - Link To the Past (SNES) <- Still there's no action-RPG that can top this one
Solar Striker (Game Boy) <- The only scrolling shooter by Nintendo and it was the best ever from Nintendo
Punch Out! (NES) <- Much better than the SNES version.Loads of fun
Kid Icarus (Game Boy) <- It's 2006 and Nintendo still hasn't made a sequel of this wonderful classic
Final Fantasy VII (PS1) <- The Best FF ever, better than IV and VI combined
Super Mario Land (Game Boy) <- It's so addictive,I've finished this time-sucker about a 1,000 times.Even more addictive than GB Tetris
Guardian Legend (NES) <- This one is one of the most atmospheric games on the NES
Doom 1 (PC) <- When it first came out it was a shock. No,it was a REVOLUTION for the PC

Also, anyone remember Dominator and Impossamole on the C64,or Chuckie Egg and Trashman II on the Speccy?
Kick-ass stuff.

JackDark wrote:I loved Shadowgate. I got it for Christmas back in '89. That game scared the crap out of me back then... it still has excellent atmosphere. The only NES game that outdoes it in the frightening meme department I'd say is Sweet Home. I had to actually order a walkthrough when I was a kid to beat Shadowgate... but, come on, I was like 10! Yes, I agree, Shadowgate had FANTASTIC music, still does. So does Deja Vu.
Oh god, do you remember Uninvited?

I remember dying like, fifteen thousand ways and I never got anything accomplished.
