No. Its all subjective.

CPU usage, which is pretty vital for a track eq is not subjective.

That said, IMHO VSTi tracks rarely need eq, and if you are working with audio tracks, there's plenty of juice available.

I use PLParEQ3 and sometimes Poshifopit, which are probably the highest quality free eqs, but use a lot of CPU.

what about NyquistEq or Classic EQ?

That statement makes no sense. Its one's own subjective choice at to whether CPU usage would be a deciding factor in one's choice, and to what degree. If you decided absolutely you wanted to use a specific EQ that required 65% CPU usage then you'd do so in offline processing. Its still subjective.

The word 'best' has no intrinsic interdependency with 'low CPU usage'.

I guess you just missed the point, whyterabbit, such happens - don't worry.

I Use Equium a lot, good eq & reasonable CPU usage

whyterabbyt seem to be bored with the "the best" threads... :D

Me too, actually

It is quite subjective... but I can recommend, say, Posihfopit :D.

Cheers!

Looks likely that it was you who missed it. But as you say, dont worry.

Nope, sorry... guy asked for a track EQ. You do know what a track eq is?

Post

jshonuff, are you thinking free, cheap or what's your budget?

Yup. Do you know how to define 'best' ?

No, not for him. Low CPU toll is just mandatory for a track eq.

In my subjective (happy now?) view PLParEQ3 is the best sounding EQ, but it's not a track eq, at least not on my Centrino, and even less that on my Athlon XP.
