since I don't have, nor do I want quicktime or any other new players just to watch a tease

could ya just mention a few of the better bits here?

Post

downloading, will give a summary for those that don't care to install QT

Post

just use the only media player you need : portable vlc

Post

multitrack recording, 45 effects, 12 tone generators, "individual configuration"

..

enhanced piano roll, new skin, Toxic 3, Toxic 2 as well, Analog Distortion AD-1 (looks like a boss DS-1 pedal), real time IR processor

overall, i gotta say the trailer was kindof a let down. If V7 is like BONES says, then the trailer doesn't give it justice.

Kind of interesting that orchestral music was used for that video. Orion is mostly associated with electronic music--guess they're trying to appeal to a different market segment?

Can't get Quicktime to play it.

Oh jesus. I really hope stupid "trailers" and "teasers" in video form don't become popular. This must be the stupidest way of delivering information one could get from a web page in 10 seconds or less.

Thoroughly pointless.

Props for 7 though, looks like there's several good improvements coming. ...though one has to watch this **** for a couple of minutes for those couple of seconds having any real information :D

what jmh said.

Plus, reaper can already do what orion does, and it costs...nada.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what its REALLY like, but I'm just not sure about paying to upgrade. I was a loyal Orion user for a few years, but I've since moved on to Acid, then Sonar, then Sonar + energyXT, and now Acid 6 is looking pretty good and energyXT v2 promises to be great. Aside from a few effects and instruments which, while admittedly nice, are easily replaceable, what exactly does Orion have over the competition at this point? :( (that was a rhetorical question, I don't need to hear your justifications...)

I suppose it depends how much the upgrade costs. Anyway, we'll see...

No, it does not - not even close. BUT, if Reaper satisfies your needs, all the more power to you! To each his/her own.
