reason refills?

just curious, when i install refills for reason do they have to be in the same folder as reason or can they be installed in another folder, say on a dedicated hard drive for samples and sound banks, new to the refill procedure. anyone familar with refill could you explain the procedure for install
when they ask who sent you tell them "I AM" sent you.
