Any new VST format support planned?

As a Sonic Synth 1 + expansion tank user, I really enjoy my sounds for the Sampletank platform. The Acoustic Piano collection and Bass collection are some of my favorites. The sounds are really playable for their size, and blend very well into the overall mix.
Unfortunately, I have stability problems with Sampletank, and I have shifted over to other VST romplers like Cakewalk Dimension and Wusikstation.
Are there any plans by SR to support these products, or other rompler products that don't use pace, C/R, or dongles?
Thanks

The good news is IK is moving away from C/R. However, the other major samplers/Romplers (Halion, Kontakt and Giga) still use C/R or dongles - not only to protect the product, but in some cases to protect the content as well. Some notable exceptions are Dimension Pro and Eve/Wusik/derivatives, but they are more "synths that use samples" than true romplers.
I have K2, ST2XL, SS1, DimPro, Wusik/Many and etc. Too much of a good thing, actually when you throw in third-party samples too.

Thanks, Doug. I feel the same way about the sound sets I have for WusiK/DimPro (unbelievable synth sounds, inconsistent rompler fare).dougsyo wrote:The good news is IK is moving away from C/R. Do you really think the engines are responsible for this state of affairs? I really hope it comes down to the programmer and the samples. Squids has ears and knows how to program velocity. But, Sampletank is, err, "slightly" unstable on my system shall we say?

SampleTank works great on my systems. But, anyway, we support other sample formats like Kontakt, EXS, HALion, Reason and will be supporting Dimension Pro with SFZ format soon (we did sounds for the factory bank of that in case you didn't know). Sonic Reality makes sounds for a lot of things and we will continue to provide that.

I think it's probably the sampleset and what it was intended to accomplish - I look at what WilliamK did with WusikStation, then look at what Paul Brown has done with ManyStation, it strikes me as much more a "rompler-ish" sound set with the exact same engine - probably more keyranges, velocity layers, longer sample between loop points, etc.EnzymeX wrote:Do you really think the engines are responsible for this state of affairs? Rene was very clear that DimPro "wasn't a rompler". The sounds came from several sources (including SR, as Squids noted). Some of the sounds do a better job of "standing alone", where others are better mixed or layered.
Incidentally, Miroslav and ST2XL have both been very stable for me, as was ST2LE before that. I wouldn't give up anything I have, even if it means shlepping a USB hard drive sometimes. Biggest challenge is "OK, I have 50 different flutes to choose from. Which is the best?" and I get sidetracked from doing music.
