It uses dynamic convolution, which sintefex has a patent on. Its the same process used in liquid channel.

Instead of one impulse of a unit it uses multisampled impulses and amplitude switches between them dynamically.

so it wont matter if youre emulating a fairchild or a 1176 its the same amount of ram and dsp use.

its 96k tops and you need the ram expansion (i bet!) to do delays and reverbs. Due to the nature of dynamic convolution it wont be doing any modulation effects.

If not for that patent this would be available as freeware in native by now, but i dont wish to sound bitter. :x :bang: :tantrum: :tantrum:

Check Sound on Sound July edition for a pre-release review.

They seem to like it a lot
Athlon 3800+ x2, 1 gig ram, 200gb SATA
Terratec 24/96 sound card, ATI all-in-wonder x600 graphics card, Windows XP Home SP2, Steinberg Cubase SX2, Reason 2.5

lets face it, if this is able to do what they say it is reasonably accurately then its going to be awesome. Especially for that price.

Oops, I can't find the price tag, where is it?

Has anyone here used Liquid channel?
Qw, music from twelve weeks in quarantine is now streaming on spotify and bandcamp. This is a collaboration with the the smallest of worlds VR art project, that documents our living spaces in times of isolation. You can join their project here.

List price.

In a gearslutz.com thread some dealer is already selling it a whole lot cheaper.

I've had the pleasure of hearing liquid channel in a couple different studios, theyre popular. Theyre undeniably good.

In TapeOp it got a great review from a guy who really didnt want to like it.

i think i addressed the possible negative points, no 192k, cant do modulation effects like uad-1's roland bundle for example.

Aside from those quibbles its solid guaranteed power.

I suppose $899 retail will go to 5-600 discount at some point.

Did you see recently where that big pharmaceutical companys patent ran out on some drug and now that a generic can be marketed they dropped its price to that of the generic.

So i suppose i could just wait out sintefex's patent, thats only like 10 years isnt it?

I have been glancing in that direction for a while. :hihi:

A perfect addition for me when it comes to mixing. 8)
