But in Nuendo, you should be able to connect directly to the VSTi, without using the standalone app.
Yup!! :D No problemo....also no problem in Bidule!! 8)

Hi mbncp,

thanks for the EZ-G Suite ... I tested yesterday and it worked fine. It is a significant better latency/"feeling" with that, compared to the htm-script. One thing is - I love the trigger function with the script to start/stop various samples.. I loaded both the script (with no midi out for the first split) and the standalone app, to have both. Or is the app also able to read such trigger files ?

Thanks for your good work !!!

... one more question ...

Was it possible to switch off the fret LEDs on the EZ-AG ?

Thanks,
Birger

Hi Birger,
I don't think it's possible to prevent the leds flashing when pressing a fret.

About the triggers, there is nothing implemented yet, will put it on the todo list.

Hi Marc, hi CapnLockheed,

ok - sounds good ... meanwhile the script does also the job.

Yes - the leds are an eye-catcher ... I thought I want to become more serious next time ..

I got an EZ-EG , easier to play then my EZ-AG

You can mute each string seperately, it's easy to use a pick because the strings are tight, digital whammy bar, all frets light up.

Rotary volume dial, no holding down the volume button for a long time.

1/8" headphone/output jack, that sucks, but not a problem.

And it looks cooler too!! I choose the EG
over the AG and I'm glad I did. The "whammy"
bar alone was worth the price of admission.

I've been thinking about having another body made for it...a little heavier with maybe a nice sunburst or sparkle finish and a 1/4" output jack!! :D

That's true but I'm a flat picker so it's a non-issue for me.

The EZ-AG is no longer for sale, but there's always 1-2 items every week on ebay if you follow that link.

Hi Marc,

did you or someone else face hanging notes with your scripts or apps ? I do - this happens more with that function where also the open strings are played. e.g. em-chord with the 4 open strings and then G-chord results in hanging notes .... Without the setting for the open strings this happens not/not_so_much (???) Is there a way out, or some tips?

Another thing ... could you please write down some points about the vst-app and what it does in a host?

Thanks,
Birger

Are you speaking about the scripts (hta) or the EZ_G.exe app ?

You can download the latest EZ_G Suite (1.01) Demo here: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/ezg_suite/files/

The VSTi version works like the standalone, but runs from your host. The advantage is that you can change settings afterwards. If you decide later to turn off 1 or 2 strings, or reduce open strings velocity, you can still do it, but if you record directly from the standalone, it might be more difficult or even impossible to make changes. Also with the release version, all parameters will be saved with the project and these parameters can also be automated in the host.
This is also cool when you have more than one track using the EZ, as you may have different setting playing a bass, guitar or some strings. And in that case, no need to change settings each time, just enable the right track and you're ready to play.

The problem with the VSTi, is that it needs the sysex sent from the EZ, and not many host support that, that's why the standalone is able to convert and send these events as CC instead, but that means that you still need to run the standalone.

Hope that helps,
Marc
