Hey!

I'm looking for some real good freeware effects:

1. What are the "must-have" effects (freeware)? ...are there anyone?

2. And which effects you really need to get a good sound?

3. Are there any good mastering effects?

You can get a good sound with or without any effects. Because it's you at the controls. It's the engineer at the controls that makes it good/bad, not the actual used gear.

Mastering is not to be attempted by newbies. You can try, but better leave it to the big boys. First make a really good mix, and then we'll talk about how to get it mastered (if it really needs to)

Another vouch for the Kjaerhus Classic Series. The Reverb, in particular, is EXCELLENT.

I'd also like to add vinyl by Izotope,vanilla compressor, gcomp,and posihfopit eq.All these are great freeware and compete well with some commercial products. Let me know if you need links to find these.
