That wasn't a slag-off, too. Just told you how it's possible to use midi-plugs in orion without any restrictions.

Use energyXT? Ok, thanks, I know that works.

Btw: Would you like to know how to connect orion's internal synths to your midi plugs?

I'd love to know. It was why I posted here in the first place.

Ok, here's my way: Route the midi from your generator to the midi out of ext. Use "Receive midi from ..." to connect the interal synth to your midi stream. Take also care that midi channel 1 is set as input channel in the option dialog of the instrument.
If you need midi input to control your midi generators, you will notice that orion always mixes the midi coming from your generator and the piano roll. My workaround is to use midi channel 2 in the piano roll, then it works with the above instruments settings.

Will check that out now, great, I'd love to do that.

You can also connect your external vstis this way, e.g. if you want to use orion's automation ;)

... and you even don't need energyXt at all if you have only one midi generator. But, as said, for sophisticated aleatoric music it's better to hide your robot army in an ext box.

- New window management option for generators/fx: Closing a window just hides the window
This was not working for me last night. Closing a generator window causes a popup message warning that it will delete the generator and asking if that is what I want to do. :-o
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

You need to turn this on.

Go to File/Preferences and untick the workflow box

I'd suggest that you go to the orion bug forum, maybe it's also a good idea to send your evil wav file to Rich. Personally I had no sampler crash for years.
